Newfoundland and Labrador:
• In 2000-2001, almost 144,000 people (out of a total of 335,431) or 42.8% age 20 to 64 were overweight (BMI higher than 27).
• In 1994-1995, almost 132,000 people (out of a total of 338,042) or 39% age 20 to 64 were overweight.
• St. John’s: In 2000-2001, almost 46,000 people (out of a total of 116,119) or 39.3% were overweight (BMI higher than 27).

P.E.I:
• In 2000-2001, just over 31,000 people (out of a total of 81,712) or 38.3% age 20 to 64 were overweight (BMI higher than 27).
• In 1994-1995, over 28,000 people (out of a total of 76,292) or 37.3 % age 20 to 64 were overweight.

Nova Scotia:
• In 2000-2001, just over 219,000 people (out of a total of 563,459) or 38.9% age 20 to 64 were overweight (BMI higher than 27).
• In 1994-1995, almost 186,000 people (out of a total of 531,093) or 34.9% age 20 to 64 were overweight.

Quebec:
• In 2000-2001, just over 1.3 million people (out of a total of over 4.5 million) or 29% age 20 to 64 were overweight (BMI higher than 27).
• In 1994-1995, almost 1.1 million people (out of a total of almost 4.6 million) or 25% age 20 to 64 were overweight.
• Montreal: In 2000-2001, over 305,000 people (out of a total of over 1.1 million) or 26.7% age 20 to 64 were overweight (BMI higher than 27).

Ontario:

• Toronto: In 2000-2001, over 411,000 people (out of a total of over 1.6 million) or 25.6% age 20 to 64 were overweight (BMI higher than 27).
• Ottawa: In 2000-2001, almost 160,000 people (out of a total of almost 493,000) or 32.4% age 20 to 64 were overweight (BMI higher than 27).

Manitoba:
• In 2000-2001, over 226,000 people (out of a total of over 634,000) or 35.7% were overweight (BMI of higher than 27).
• In 1994-1995, almost 228,000 people (out of a total of over 625,000) or 36.5% age 20 to 64 were overweight (BMI higher than 27).
• Winnipeg: In 2000-2001, over 121,000 people (out of a total of over 384,000) or 31.6% age 20 to 64 were overweight (BMI higher than 27).

Saskatchewan:
• In 2000-2001, over 213,000 people (out of a total of over 544,000) or 39.1% age 20 to 64 were overweight (BMI higher than 27).
