I just finished reading a book by one of Britain's most ingenious crime writers.Four bodies, one suspect, no trace. The first case for detective superintendent Roy Grace.

The story is about a harmless stag night prank. A few hours later four of his best friends are dead and Michael Harrison has disappeared. With only three days to the wedding, Detective Superintendent Grace - a man haunted by the shadow of his own missing wife - is contacted by Michael's beautiful, distraught fianc??e, Ashley Harper. Grace discovers that the one man who ought to know Michael Harrison's whereabouts is saying nothing. But then he has a lot to gain - more than anyone realizes. For one man's disaster is another man's fortune...Dead Simple...! Excellent read.

I am currently reading The Light House by P.D. James

Combe Island off the Cornish coast has a bloodstained history of piracy and cruelty but now, privately owned, it offers respite to over-stressed men and women in positions of high authority who require privacy and guaranteed security. But the peace of Combe is violated when one of the distinguished visitors is bizarrely murdered.

I'm somewhere in the middle of the 300 pages, and can't wait till the end.

I am reading Charlie Two Shoes and the Marines. It's an inspirational story about humanity. It's the story of an 11-year-old Chinese boy who is taken in by an American marine division. The marines of Love Company adopted the poor Chinese boy, Tsui Chi Hsii - better known to the Americans as Charlie Two Shoes - and provided him with food, clothing and education. When China turned to communism in 1949, the marines had to leave, but they never forgot Charlie. Years later, after his release from a communist prison, it was these same aging marines that helped bring Charlie and his family come to America.

I'm currently reading the Moncton.net message board. It's the continuing story of a bunch of people who type messages on the internet. It's not available in hard cover yet.
