A Quebec court has barred convicted schoolgirl killer Karla Homolka from legally changing her name again.
Karla Homolka, is now Karla Leanne Teale.
The request her second attempt was rejected by Quebec superior court on Thursday. Her original request was turned down last year.
Homolka had wanted to change her name to Emily Chiara Tremblay.
She was denied the change this time because her lawyer filed an appeal two weeks after the deadline.
Last July, Homolka was released from prison after completing a controversial 12-year manslaughter sentence in the deaths of Ontario schoolgirls Kristen French and Leslie Mahaffy in the 1990s.
She testified against then-husband Paul Bernardo as part of a plea bargain sealed before the extent of her participation in the murders was known and before it was discovered she had a role in the drug-rape death of her own sister, as well as the sexual assault of a teen known as Jane Doe.
Homolka took up residence in Montreal when her sentence expired.
She'll be able to make another request for a name change.
Whats funny is female serial killers have always been something of an anomaly for many of us.
Who ever thinks of the nice lady next door as being a killer, after all she bakes cookies and gives out candy to neighborhood kids.
I think they are every bit as lethal as male serial murderers, but we are seldom aware of one in our midst because of their low visibility and are more successful, careful, precise, methodical, and quiet in committing their crimes.
Karla is one of those said people, who should never be allowed to change her name or leave this country. She helped in rape and murder of her own sister. She is a monster.
