Does anyone know of a family doctor or particular practice in Moncton sympathetic to prescribing Ritalin?

We moved to Moncton June 2005 and we still have not been placed with a doctor. It appears previous medical records will not follow until we have one.

Our son's prescription needs renewing soon and it looks as if this may be a problem without previous records. It has been suggested we keep seeing doctors until one agrees to issue a new prescription. This will be a timely and costly exercise to say nothing of the difficulty in traipsing around with a kid who should be in school and not out having a tour of doctor's offices.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Try calling the medical clinic on Main street (in the superstore building). They'll let you know if there's a family doctor in the area who is accepting new patients.

There's a pediatrician on Mtn. Rd. - I believe her name is Margaret Hearst,but I could be wrong. Her office is right across from Wedgewood Hall. She's very good, if you can get in to see her. Otherwise, I'd take a trip to the local ER - the difficult way of doing things, I know .. but they keep a pediatrician on staff. He/she just may be sympathetic to your plight. Good luck!

There are fairly new doctors offices on Mtn Rd in the new Jean Coutu building..They may still be taking patients..
