There's a bike auction coming up. Does anyone know if it's worth going? What kind of prices do they go for?

I would love to know as well. I am looking for one. So please send me an email when you find out, thanks.

I've heard they're worth it. Hardly anybody knows about or goes to them so you can get good deals. A few of the bikes were stolen so be careful if you buy one that you don't run into it's 300 pound origional owner.

I see this post has been moved. Not sure that's a good idea. I thought the events forum was about advertising events. That's not what this was about and presumably this has died since it was moved here because it's seen by fewer people than where I originally posted it.

But as I said I wasn't looking to advertise the event, just seeking info from any forum members with experience of the auction. I thought the best place for requesting information from members was the members forum.

Yup, I just may do that.. I taught I'd missed it; taught it was last week.  Since we were having a few drinks last saturday, I really didn't think it would've been a good idea to ask the cop to drive my car home so I could bike cause I was "impaired" haha!

That's fine....many people MAY see it here and attend. But as I said above, my purpose behind the post was to seek information and I believe that MANY MORE people would have seen it where I posted it and therefore more responses were likely.

I posted it in the Members Corner where most of the activity seems to be.

I noticed it equally in either place. Does anybody know what time it is?........I mean the bike auction.

Yes...I'm sure you did...but you are VERY, VERY active here and, therefore, more likely to see it wherever it was.. Your response to my original post was one of two very quick ones. I imagine that was because it was in a 'busy' forum. That's what I was looking for.

It then got moved to a quieter place and it was no surprise that 10 days went by before the next post. And that was my own!!

But now I just sound like I'm whining, so I'm going to shut up.

actually bristol you had a very good point.you post came at a time they were adjusting the forum and  the moderator probably thought they were helping you by moving your topic to the local heading.they probably did not understand your motive for putting it under the other.it was an honest mistake on their part.please dont allow this oversight from ruining your forum experience and for goodness sake dont shut up as we enjoy your input.  HAPPY POSTINGS!
