Voodoo

Babydoll Diva wrote on 10/5/2005 11:27:47 AM :
HI ..

I am the newest member of  VooDoo managment team. I would like to poll fellow Monctonians and ask them what the Voodoo is doing wrong or what we can change to increase the number of bodies here on Tuesday Friday and Saturday.

I worked for VooDoo when it first opened as a coat check girl and it was awesome back then. I know it was a new club and of course is going to generate curosity. I have made it my mission to make the Club fun again.  In order for me to do that Im asking you all to give me feedback.

Answer these questions for me..
1) Why is your favorite bar/club your favorite?
2) Why are some bars busier then others? what are they doing to bring in the crowd?

Thanks Everyone for your help..

Myself and a friend of mine went to Voodo a few years back and were told we had to leave our hats at the coat check. Neither of us liked the idea so away we went. My hat is only a hat but it is part of what makes me be "ME". On the contrary my favourite club is The Air Force Veterans Club. I remove my hat before I enter out of respect for those dead or alive who fought for our country. Thanks to them I have the freedom to make that choice. I can understand a dress code but my hat was on straight, not crooked, nor backwards when I went to Voodoo.

Here is my idea to bring people into a bar. Most people don't want to go out and have just one beer. People start to have a good time after a few but are scared of drinking and driving so they stay home. Why not make a deal with a local taxi company and give a customer a coupon for maybe 50 cents for every beer or drink they buy. The customer could save these coupons up and use them to pay for transportation to or from your bar.

PS, I respect a manager who asks opinions instead of just making decisions. Ask Mr Attis for a raise.

Hello willie c wuddle..

I have seen or read most of your posts on here. You know alot about everything in this city and a person with an opinion is a real person in my book.

I am sorry about how you feel with the Hat policy. It was put in place when we opened. It is to create a classy atmosphere. We want people to be dressed up and looking their best. A hat downdresses the person. I know there are many that share your opinion. We do offer a casual night on Nothing to Do Tuesday's. You can wear whatever you want on that night. Smile

I think your Idea is fantastic.. I am going to sit down and see how I can make that work. I appreciate your suggestion. You are right people don't want to go out for just a few. They want to make a night of it.  I love new ideas and different angles to think about.  Thanks a bunch

Thanks for the respect thing.. I strive on everyones opinions.. You learn alot!

Ok.........I will wear a tie, not a hat.........If I put the tie around my head like a sweatband am I wrong? I could declare discrimination based on the fact that I love to wear my hat. Look around you. Check out the public, aka, average joe. Count the hats. Later count your profits. You are intelligent, or so I suspect...........Go for the public and they will come to you.
PS........Why couldn't I just take my hat off instead of coatchecking it?

I'm back again.............If you turn away the average Joe why are you looking for new business? Do we all win lotteries overnight? Do we get awesome raises overnight? The average Joe outnumbers more of Moncton's population than a few fancy dancy people do. Thanks for listening.

Hey Babydoll, please forgive me for getting wound up about my hat yesterday. I was having a bad medication day. I can understand where Voodoo is coming from with the dress code, etc.

One of the things you could think about is the VooDoo Nightlife Card. A membership program that allows your patrons to get discounts in your club.
The card can be basically used for discounts which can vary between free, reduced admission fees or discounts on drinks. Of course the establishment decides what discount to give away to people who come to their club or bar.
It is a great way to attract more visitors to your club bar or resturant. Discounts can be used to attract more people on the slow days, or during the slow hour.

Another idea is like a tourist office but all about Nightlife! As a participant you can leave information about your club or bar in stores; flyers, posters or other
promotional items. People can go to a particular store to sign up as a member, retrieve information about the latest upcoming parties, to get flyers etc. All with one goal: to promote your club or bar!

Another old but still new idea is to create a website and publish the latest news about the nightlife in the Moncton area, including but not limited to, articles covering parties, festivals, employment new openings and everything that covers the interest of your patrons and visitors. You could also have a party guide with all the upcoming parties. Your website would be designed to interact with the visitors. They have to possibility to vote on clubs, leave their opinion about a club bar, discuss parties, check out the pictures of special parties and more. The website would be built to increase the attention value of your club. Your visitors can search for their perfect night out by selecting their favorite type of music and or area their want to go out to. If your club or bar offers a special promotion that day, it will be displayed on your website. You could offer information about your club or bar including, but not limited to, a full description, opening hours, how to get there by public transport, dress code, party pictures and type of discount. Theme prties are also a great way to attract new business. I would be like a costume party once a month or however often you decide to entertain this idea. Well good luck wih this an I hope you can use of these ideas to boost interest in your clubs.

People that would sign up at your website have to leave some personal details such as their (mobile?) phone number and email address. On subscribing they can choose to agree to receive text messages. This way you have the possibility to use our database for your promotional activities. The best direct marketing there is! Your primary goal is to promote the nightlife of Moncton through synergy; Increase the exposure of your club a by means of cooperation. If you would like more information about how I can help please email me at info@moncton.net

Good Luck!Smile

Hey Babydoll you said about me......"You know alot about everything in this city". Thanks for the compliment but I am just "Joe Average". I know a little about a lot and a lot about a little. I do know a lot of people from many walks in life and listen to what they all have to say. Thanks for listening to me. I am a ratchet jaws at times but say what I mean. You're going to do alright in your new promotion.

I'd have to agree with what Willie has said. I think things will work out if you just follow your instinct.

yous going to love this and find it funny but i have never been to voodoo before sence i move here in 1999
Vlad Drac wrote on 6/24/2006 10:41:58 AM :
I don't find it that funny. I've only been there once and it's only because it was the "last class bash" for NBCC. I haven't been there since and I have no interest in going again.
