Who are the worst divers in the world...not Monctonians?

Monctonians have to be the worst drivers I have ever seen! Even our so-called professional drivers (taxi-drivers) can't drive. It is so bad that the Codiac RCMP were going to do weekly features in the Times and Transcript in the hopes of retraining our citizens on the rules of the road. Frankly, I'm sick of being tailgated, run out of my lane on Mountain Road, almost sideswiped, almost crashed into as people ignore the roadways in parking lots, ignore yield signs and speed through red lights. The worst is that people don't seem to know how to drive in a parking lot and that makes them a menace to drivers who actually follow the rules of the road.

Moncton.Net DOES NOT ENDORSE OR SUPPORT THE VIEWS OF THE VISITORS THAT MAKE POSTS IN THIS MESSAGE BOARD, but geeze there are some very bad drivers around town.

A lot of drivers in this city don't seem to know about leaving a half car length or better between them and the vehicle in front at a stop light. You should be able,at least, to see the bottom of the rear tires on the car in front. This gives you room for an escape route if you see a driver coming behind who's not going to be able to stop. If you get rear-ended why do the same to the poor guy or gal in front of you? I had a guy so close to me the other night that all I could see was a little bit of his roof in my rearview. I saw nothing of him in my outside mirrors. That's too close!

If you think Moncton drivers look bad to you try to picture them from a cyclist's point of view. I get cut off all the time. I get so frustrated that I pedal on the sidewalk a lot of the time. I'm terrified of going around the causeway traffic circle and usually go over the train overpass instead. Here are the top five worse drivers in Moncton based on my experience.
5. Drunk drivers.
4. People who think they own the road.
3. People drinking Tim Horton coffee.
2. People yacking on cell phones.
And finally the worst of all:
1. Old men wearing hats.
Sorry if I'm stepping on anybody's toes here.

As much as I consider myself "Moncton's Most Perfect Driver" I will probably become "Halifax's Worst Driver" again today. I drive terrible in Halifax. It once took me two hours to drive from Citadel Hill to the casino. It is only a fifteen minute walk. Put me on the Armdale Rotary (a traffic circle with streetlights on it) when it's raining in rush hour traffic, and I'm a menace to society, and a potential target for massive road rage. Thank GOD most Halifax drivers are polite and patient when they see New Brunswick plates. Add to the fact that I'm a male and very rarely read road maps and "Haven't we driven past here three times already?". I feal that Monctonians are not the worst drivers in the world. Some of us Monctonians driving in Halifax must be pretty close.

For goodness sake - forget all the statistics (which are normally highly unreliable) and other mumbo-jumbo and just use your eyes.

When you drive on the road, who are the one's who need a clear 4 feet either side of the car (usually more than a bus needs) before moving through a gap? just because they don't want to get dust on thier cars?

Who are the ones who dither about at juntions and wait for a 500 yard gap in the traffic before proceeding? Or rides on your bumper as though you were a towing service?

Who are the ones that always mess up parallel or reverse parking? Showing off and drving with one hand?

Who are the ones that never read or understand road lane discipline and always approach juntions in the wrong lane, stay in the outside lane on highways(freeways, whatever you call them) when they are supposed to move to the inside lane if not overtaking?

Who are normally completely unaware of how a car works and that changing gear upwards can be a good thing to avoid over-revving the engine and getting better fuel economy.

Yup - MEN.

You can argue all you want about statistics, but I trust my eyes and my own experiences much, much more.
Men are just so clearly much worse at driving - please could they just accept this and move on.

well my point of view is that women are the cause of most accidents

1 they are wearing either miniskirts or very tight  jean that contour their body

2 they nag their male counterpart while he is driving

these things cause major distraction to the male

Seniors, without a doubt Seniors. They can't even see where they are going.

This ia a nobrainer, men generally take more risks and drive more powerful cars. It's almost inevitable.
The difference between men and women behind the wheel was brought into sharp relief this week when figures revealed men are guilty of a staggering 97% of dangerous driving offences and 94% of accidents causing death or bodily harm. On average, men committed nine times as many traffic offences as women, the study found.

Now, in defense of men, we men may come out worse because of differences that skew the statistics. More men drive, and those that do cover more miles than the average woman, so they simply have more opportunities to crash.

I would love to make a Wuddle Rebuttle here but I'm completely lost on this one.
