A rumor has begun circulating that Boston and REO Speedwagon will join forces next year. That's the word from melodicrock.com, which had this news item: "I am hearing reports of a tour package being put together for U.S. fans in 2007 -- Boston and REO Speedwagon together!... REO will be looking to tour in support of their upcoming new studio album, while Boston will be looking to play a wider range of dates than they originally did to promote the last album, Corporate America." The site added that REO would open the shows, and Boston would close. There's been no official comment from either the Boston or REO camps about the story.

The new REO Speedwagon album has a working title of Happy Ending. The band has been working on it for a few years, and they hope to release it in February.

That would be an excellent concert. I'll start saving up my nickels and dimes in case they happen to pass through our fair city.

I'd say chances are fair for it, especially if it's in the summertime and they bring some other name acts with them.

Oh the memories that awaken just from hearing the names of these bands ... LOL!
