Goerge Bush Debate...

I would like to know why the media hasn't published polls asking whether the American people believe George W. Bush should be impeached for lying to the United States Congress and the American people about reasons for going to war with Iraq? The Downing Street memo is proof that the war was pre-planned and not due to weapons of mass destruction.

When the Lewinsky scandal broke in 1998, many pollster throughout the country asked about the impeachment of President Bill Clinton.

Why is the media treating President George W. Bush differently from President Bill Clinton?

Is it because the media is favorable towards Republicans? Or is the media afraid of being labeled liberal by the neo-cons in office?

Lock up that Bas-tard he's a criminal. He's the anti-christ. He's a liar. He's a crook. He's a murderer. Take Colin Powell and that Rice down with him too. In fact they should all be tried for war crimes against humanity. It is disgrace what they have done. But the rest of the gdamn world watches while this bully goes about doing these dirty deeds like he's the ruler of the world, ruler of the universe. Tkae that dirtbag to court and try him and see how he likes it.

What's really disturbing, to me these days is that El Presidente Bush wants to spy on citizens with the NSA (and has done so supposedly dozens of times), that the supposed paper of record delayed telling anyone about this little bombshell for a year, or worst, that none of this comes as any kind of real surprise. I mean sure, you weren't expecting to read about this in the paper, but now that it's out there, didn't we all kind of assume that this was happening?

In addition, isn't that the worst thing? The fact that, to borrow an over-abused phrase, the terrorists have already won. Moreover, decisively, at that. Here we are in the United States of America, a country we could once be proud of, watching the reasons for our pride be incrementally blotted out. We do not intervene internationally to help, but rather to further dubious and selfish foreign-policy goals, or worse, lower the price of oil. We do not fight the spread of aids, we insist on abstinence education instead of fighting an epidemic, to placate the leaders of a religion, which is irrelevant to those suffering. We do not condemn barbarous regimes; we have become a barbarous regime. We are a police state, a theocracy, a plutocracy, an aggressor. a leader of nations working feverishly to become backwards, striving to shed all desire for progress, for learning, for understanding, for reaching out to those that disagree with a palm instead of a fist.

And as we all know in the end, bush will go away. Retire handsomely on taxpayers money. In fact it's possible that he will even be replaced with someone that is less bad than he is. Even the invertebrate Romney would be an improvement. We may even forget him 20 years from now, the same way our recollection of jimmy carter is fuzzy. The rest of the world will not, though. The past five years have shown the United States to be a hypocrite, and it will take decades to earn back the trust of those whom we have wronged.

Perhaps even sadder is the fact that American citizens are so much quicker to forgive. There are people out there who know that the war was a ***-up, and one that was perpetrated on a base of lies, but they turned around and voted for him anyway. They believed him and his proxies when he told them a war hero was dishonest. even at the nadir of his popularity, with the mainstream 'liberal' media timidly but conclusively pointing out things like the rising body count in Iraq, the lies that got us there, and the illegal activities of his cohorts, there are still going to be a fair amount of people that still believe him. Which begs the question, do we deserve any better? Then, if we don't, if we do get the leadership we ask for and deserve, does that tendency point to anything short of the decline of our civilization? If, given the capability, we are willingly abrogating the duty to lead in whichever aspect of civilization we can, do we deserve any less? the long and the short of it is that our nation and its leadership seem to be doing wrong wherever possible, with pretty much the expected results, and though we've survived it to this point, doesn't this someday catch up with us? It probably does, but we will be too busy shopping to notice.
Moreover, Georgey, if you are reading my email, you had better not give away my secret brownie recipe.

F.u.c.k.i.n.g Asshole!!

I think George W. Bush has a very weak grasp of the idea "freedom" and its significance in his country. He also seems to lack an understanding of the meaning of satire. Humor does require a measure of intelligence. Maybe that is his problem. With the invite and political machinery of the GOP establishment and wealthy fat cats, George W. Bush intends to squarely plop himself down in the White House. When considering his record of pandering to special interests, bald hypocrisy, weasel speak and the utterly hollow nature of the George W. Bush "vision", sensible people shudder. At least there is humor. Most unwittingly, George W. Bush does provide himself as grist for tremendous hilarity.
