Fear is that " darkroom" in our mind in which we develop all our negatives of frightening possibilities.

When I think of courage in todays world, there seems to be a lot of discourse sorrounding it(courage). Sharing one's secret fears, aspirations, desires, and failure with others takes courage. I see all around me our collective courage is growing weaker from disuse.
I'll give you an example, where the other day I read a post, in here (Topix) about signing a petition and some replied: "what good would it do?" and why bother. Without courage, all virtue is fragile: admired, sought after, professed, but held cheaply and surrendered without a fight.
I demand courage from my friends, and they too should demand it from me.
Newtons third Law: If courage is in scarce supply, then demand is down as well.
Winston Churchill called courage "the first of human qualities . . . because it guarantees all the others."
In the past, I've been able to overcome my own fears because of an acute sense of an even greater fear-that of feeling remorse.
I fully understand that it may be difficult for the average person to always step up, and that courage is not always certain, and it is not always comprehensible and is a hugh sacrifice. But, rest a sure one thing we can claim with complete confidence is that fear is indispensable to courage, that it must always be present for courage to exist.
Just remember, we're all afraid of something. The one fear we must all guard against is the fear of ourselves. Don't let the sensation of fear convince you that you're too weak to have courage. Fear is the opportunity for courage, not proof of cowardice. No one is born a coward. We were meant to love. And we were meant to have the courage for it.
I consider myself a work in progress.

Starry, I'm really sorry I didn't answer these for you earlier. I saw "Psychology" and skipped it, because I didn't realize it was something so simple, LOL. With kids in and out of counselling for the last 4 years, I'm kinda getting tired of psychology .. but this wasn't bad at all!

There is always a way to make things in yourself better. It's a never ending road of enlightenment.

What a flowery, poetic line. Were you inspired, or did you steal that somewhere? Go get a cup of coffee, read something that gets you fired up, and come back as your normal self, LOL!!
