Why are you anti Jewish, or just what is it about them that irks you so?

(S??m); the noun form referring to a person is Semite. The negative form of the adjective, anti-Semitic, is almost always used as a misnomer to mean "anti-Jewish" specifically.
Now,,the question I pose to some of YOU is "Why are you against the Jews?"
My parents came over here after WW2. Both were Polish Catholics.They were poor and uneducated, just barely able to read. Both hated the Jews with a Passion.Blamed them for anything and everything.If you were cheated or ripped off,"you got Jewed". We lived on the wrong side of the tracks in Riverview.In 1967.I was not yet 16 when the SIX Day War broke out.Even back then,seems like just about everyone wanted the "Jews" wiped off the map.My Polish name was enough for me to have many people TRY to beat the Hell out of me.Some did,,most didn't. One of my first important lessons in life was that most people who hate "Jews",don't know what they are talking about.It still applies today.
So to those of YOU on Moncton.net,that are "ant-Jewish",here is you chance to make your point .

On the whole,being anti is alright.
We here have expressed opioions that are anti
gay,Christian,Muslim,Bush,
HarperUS,Concervative,Liberal,Republican,Democrat,Canadian,Immigration,
just to name a few.
It shows in some of the Posts here,in the slant and even style of the writing.Who's writing we copy to Post on here.Some, like mine are slanted to the Right,while some like yours,oneandonly, are slanted to the Left.

The whole conflict in the middle east is far too comlicated for anyone to understand completely I think. I believe strongly that there should be a Jewish state, there are over a dozen arab states all with Arab laws, customs and beliefs. Why is it so hard to recognize a jewish state?
The worst of it all is that they're really desecrating the holy lands of two very proud peoples. Conflicts like these are one of the reasons why I am very leary about organized religions. There are far too many politics involved.
I also disagree with some of the things israel has done. I'm sorry if this sounds heartless, but are 2 soldiers worth escalating one of the worst conflicts in history to a new level? What happens if the talks fall through, Syria gets seriously involved and then who knows what Iran will do. The US is bound determined not to listen to anything Syria or anyone who isn't US-friendly has to say and will continue feeding arms and money into the israeli army.
The general public is ignorant. Jews are known for having gaudy jewellery and for hoarding wealth. One thing that really opened my eyes when I was younger was when I was told why Jews wore so much jewellery traditionally. It was because they were constantly being robbed, persecuted and chased from their homes. They had to able to carry as much of their worth with them when they fled. So they began investing their money into jewellery which they could sell wherever they settled.
I just recently had one of my friends completely crushed and humiliated when the man that she loved wanted to bring her home to meet his parents. They would not let her into their house, simply because she was not a jew. She was not good enough for them. I've heard many stories like this about staunch jews and I think it breeds a lot of contempt. However, she and I are both smart enough to realize that this happens often in many religions, not only Judaism.

if you look around and listen to the youth a common insult is " you jew!!" or " you jew bag!" now who do they learn it from? PARENTS!! Our soceity turns a blind eye on it, and act like there is not this underlying prejudice toward jews. Jews are ftenblamed for everything, and when something goes wrong.

the reason you would find more negative posts than positive, is because humans tend to share negative emotions with the general public, while positive - only with intimate group. How many people are you going to rant about you being fired? Lots. How many people are you going to tell you have just gotten a raise? Maybe not even to your wife!
Don't think just because we critisize certain things, that's what we are! Becides, 90% of general public in Israel, according to my info, supports this current war. This is very dangerous. Forces need to be ballanced, and in check, for the sake of democracy in Israel.

I think you misunderstand something. I DISAGREE with the policies of Israel not because I am anti-Jewish, but because I am half-Jewish!
About 5-6 years ago I wanted to move to Israel and live there. It's what's called Aliah, repatriation.
I am glad I didn't.
I, of all people, want peace in the Middle East. Aside ffom the fact that I would love to see the place of my ancestors, its just a great place to visit. Christianity, Judaism, and to a degree, Islam were born there. The first city on earth, Jerico, is there. Many of my buddies are in Haifa right now!
I just think through invasions, and bombings, you can't acheive peace! I am Canadian. I can critisize Ottawa. Nobody will call me Anti-Canadian. I start critisize Israel, and all of sudden, I am anti-Jewish!
I wonder, what my granddad would say to that. When I was growing up, he told me a story. Germans captured him, and he was standing inline with other prisoners. The German commandant was walking and examining each prisoner, and was saying "Yuden - come", "Non-Juden - stay"! When my granddad's time came, the German classified him as "Ukranian" (he was Jewish!). So, he was allowed to stay in the low security camp somewhere in Poland. He escaped from that camp and stayed for days in the cold marshes. Eventually he was rescued by the allies.
