Christian Group Seeks Ban On Gay Divorce

oneandonly wrote on 9/10/2006 4:46:20 PM :
The Christian Coalition of America, a staunch opponent of gay marriage, has seemingly given up that fight in favor of a new tact. The group has now begun lobbying hard against allowing gays to get divorced.

"It is an affront to the institution of divorce," said Coalition President Roberta Combs. "If they want to get married so badly, then they should stay that way. Don't be clogging up my court system with your gay marital woes."

Coalition members in Massachusetts have begun a petition campaign to legally block same-sex divorces, claiming the wording in current state law allows for homosexuals to get together, but not to part. They hope the state Supreme Court will hear the case during their fall session.

"Listen, they wanna get married, I'm actually okay with that," said anti-gay activist Jaleel Philips. "Keeps 'em outta my hair. But they wanna get divorced, then they're back on the streets, spreading their AIDS and whatnot. I'm not down with that."

Proponents of gay divorce said Philips' argument doesn't hold water because much like their heterosexual counterparts, they also like to cheat on their spouses, giving them ample opportunity to spread disease and whatnot even while married.

When reached for comment, Gov. Mitt Romney denied any knowledge of gays or lesbians actually living in Massachusetts.

Let me get this straight, first the church doesn't want gentlemen of bent persuasion to get married, now they want them to stay married. Sounds like somebody is smoking wacky tobacky.

Not sure what people are trying to do to make gays STAY together if they are AGAINST gay marriage.

That isn't too Christian.

Also, I'm NOT, as a Christian, against gay marrige.

Why?

Because gays only PLAY house; God says they are NOT married... no matter what a court says about it.

There is no such thing as "gay marriage".

Thanks, JD! Big Smile [:D]

Gay marriage isn;t even real; no same sex partners have ever gotten married; I refuse to believe it no matter what facts you show me!

As a matter of "fact" (hehe) the word gay is not even a word.... someone made it up and pretended it was a word but it really wasn't!

The word "gay" has been around for CENTURIES!

It CAN'T be real because it's so OLD!

A bunch of guys got together and said, "Let's make up a story and say that the word gay exists!"

Now, everyone is fooled!

I'm not though; because I believe what I want to believe, no matter what facts are in my face.

Thats' all for tonight, folks. blowup [blowup]

WWJD is right. I saw two guys walking down the street a while back who I thought were holding hands. What I thought were a pair of smiling faces were really the expression of two guys arm wrestling. Both arms were down so aparently they were both losing and the way the arms were swinging back and forth told me that it was quite a match they had going.

Wow, that made absolutely no sense. I'll assume you quoted someone here, Dan. You usually make a bit more sense than this, even though I absolutely don't agree with anything you say.

I seriously hope that whoever came up with that wasn't serious because that was probably the most narrow minded thing I ever read.
