I *think* you have to define what you mean by "freedom".

When we have folks making laws to tell you when, and if, you can smoke a cigarette in your car, my best guess is we are not long off a time of no/very limited freedom.

Being a smoker, I totally get where your comming from. But it is for the children who cannot be free and decide for themselves not to be in a smoking enviroment. It's unhealthy for them and why make them suffer in a cloud of tabacco smoke for?

Be careful what you write cause you can say boo and they will jump down your throat.

No you don't, the smoking thing was just used as an example.

Each, and every time, another law is enacted it is a removal of a "freedom".

I am not saying all laws are bad, but one would hope that common sense should be valued higher than making another law.

Re: How much longer will Canada be free?

And in the case of the new smoking law, common sense HAS been valued higher than someone's rights to expose a child to cigarette smoke.

I am a non-smoker. My ex-husband smoked. He smoked in the house, in the car, wherever and whenever he pleased. My daughter was hospitalized numerous times for asthma, and doctors repeatedly told her father to quit smoking around her. She was on the medi-mist machine the weekend he left our lives. It was the last time she used it, and it's been 7 years.

My new hubby is a smoker. He smokes outside, and not in the vehicle. Miraculously, my daughter has not had a single asthma attack in the 6-1/2 years we've been together. Nobody's saying he can't smoke ... just not in closed spaces with the children.

In this case, I'm on the side of the lawmakers. Call it the voice of experience on both sides of the fence.

With freedom comes responsibility for your actions.

Its a case of cause and effect.

If your freedoms harm another, they need to be curtailed or controled.

Really quite simple, don't you think?

And how long will our freedom  last??

    Hmmmmm...what time is it now....

yes the gay laws harms the universe since   they stop reprduction   of the human race and it is taught in schools so you think the the laws are to stop infringing others right   most laws our days are just for more votes by the unpopulars  but the rest of the population  is too stupid to notice so they vote for the morrons making those laws also

So you support the non-use of a condom, of birth control etc... That also stops reproduction.

Re: How much longer will Canada be free?

Are you f*cken sh*tting me? How in hell do you expect people to have more kids, you yourself even b*tch about low income, not enough work, etc.... I have one kid and I will not have another by choice due to having to work.

Once up on a time ago, the wife didn't work and was home to take care of the kids because they could survive with the husband's income. Now both parents have to work (so calculate the rate of day care and it's unaffordable to have many kids).

Times changed and as I said to survive, both parents need to work just to get the hydro, rent and food paid (and even at that sometimes not enough money to do all 3).

Damn right I'm on birth control. Paid 50$ for the pills or pay lots of $$$ to feed, clothed, warm and give a roof on top of kids heads, oh and also supervision for when the parents are working. Which one do you think it more affordable? I don't want to have more kids than I can afford and I sure don't want to have more kids so they can get to know a babysitter or a daycare worker more than their own parents. That's just wrong.

but truly we do need to have more birth in Canada  but it is organised that we cannot afford them so they can import immigrants    in order to kill canada so they can sell it to the highest bidder

Ok,,lets look at this from a strictly scientifis point of view..

    We need more births...

    First we need more sex...

    Hell,,, I'm " Up " for it.
