Watching it now. I like his message, in general. He really seems to be the "everyman" candidate.

I think Obama is a powerful speaker.  I wish.....for our fellow neighbours to the south that his message is as powerful.

What I did to overcome that was to put my html in notepad and copy it, but it still doesn`t work.

haha nope, I don't remember changing anything on my keyboard.  I might have hit something while typing.  Can't be bothered to problem solve right now either......oh well.

Videotaped sermons show the Rev. Jeremiah Wright declaring "God damn America", calling the US the " US of KKK A", blames US foreign policy for the September 11 attacks,the Aids Virus, attacks Israel and levels racist insults against the Clintons. All the time the Congreation is jumping for joy and approval.

Wright has been Obama's minister and mentor for 20 years. At first Obama denied that he was every in Church during those Speeches, but has scince admitted that he was.

People are going through those Videos with a fine tooth comb. If they find a shot of him acting like the otheres in the congreation, he is finished immediately.

They could be very damning indeed. I think he addresses the issue well enough in the video that was linked by Aprilwine. I will admit to not following the election all that closely, though probably closer than some of the people actually voting in it. From what I've heard from the candidates if I had the chance to pick one it would be Obama. Well him or Colbert

I have already condemned, in unequivocal terms, the statements of Reverend Wright that have caused such controversy. For some, nagging questions remain. Did I know him to be an occasionally fierce critic of American domestic and foreign policy? Of course. Did I ever hear him make remarks that could be considered controversial while I sat in church? Yes. Did I strongly disagree with many of his political views? Absolutely - just as I'm sure many of you have heard remarks from your pastors, priests, or rabbis with which you strongly disagreed.

He goes on to say he can not disown Rev. Wright as he has been a big part of his life and then says....


The fact is that the comments that have been made and the issues that have surfaced over the last few weeks reflect the complexities of race in this country that we've never really worked through - a part of our union that we have yet to perfect. And if we walk away now, if we simply retreat into our respective corners, we will never be able to come together and solve challenges like health care, or education, or the need to find good jobs for every American.
