I totally agree with that Willi.
It bothers me to see all the young people putting so much about themselves on it.....talking about their parties, who they love (today) LOL........I'm afraid some of it will come back to haunt them and they'll be scrambling to do a bunch of deleting.

Simply type my name in Facebook and when you come to the profile with my photo, try looking at my profile... you won't be able to unless I add you as a friend.

Applications cannot give access to outside individuals as only friends can send applications.

Have you tried it?
The best part is the ability to get in touch with people you haven't seen in forever, like elementary school. If you're not interested in that, it's also a means of keeping up to date on all your friends' happenings and keeping others up to date on what's going on with you. If all that doesn't interest you, yeah, Facebook isn't for you.

Yup, I'm listed in there but I don't play. I suppose I could go look for my old schools and see who's all there.

Of course, some things depend on how old you are. I left school squiddly-five years ago. If I was particularly interested in keeping in touch with them and vice versa, we'd still be in touch.
As for it being a way of keeping up to date....for me, friends should do that with direct contact - unless it's for things like a party invite or something of that sort.
So the former Master of the Rolls is correct, there's little in it for me.
