Moving to Moncton for a job

Hi everybody ! I'm a french student and after five years of studies in translation I realized that this job in France is really difficult to make a living out of it! (I realized maybe a little too late). Anyway I tried to find something and I found this ad from the Lexi-Tech Translation company. I answered it and told myself I'd never move so far from France but in the end when I think about it I'd love to start my life here in Moncton. I actually still don't have the results of my test but if I did great I might move in here. So I checked the Moncton website and it seems like it's a really nice place. The salary seems very good, a lot better than in France, the standards of living pretty great. I was just thinking of all the paperwork I'd have to do before coming here. Is it worth it? Is Moncton a great city for foreigners? Please help me out It's a difficult choice I have to make and I wouldn't want to blow it!
    Bye

You education level should allow you to prosper.

We all would benefit from that.

In you case Moncton would be a  great place to start a new life.

Moving to Moncton for a job

Thanks everybody for answering in such short notice. I was looking for places to live and of course the closer the better so I've seen Riverview and Dieppe. Riverview is more english speaking town whereas Dieppe is a lot more french but I really don't mind living with english speaking people. I was just thinking which one of the two is nicer. Meaning by that more green parks, more nature...Because I live west of Paris and it's really green. I don't wanna be to lost.

    Thanks everybody see ya!!

Then moncton  up near Centennial park, or maybe kingswood or valhalla. In my opinion Riverview is nicer but generally his higher property tax rates, and isn't really close to any amenities.

All three communities have very nice green spaces. Moncton's are more in the form of parcs, etc.

Riverview is more natural, as it is closer to rural areas, and walking trails.  Just my opinion.

Each has their own to offer.

Re: Moving to Moncton for a job

In my opinion it really doesn't matter where u live within the greater Moncton areas (Moncton, Dieppe and or Riverview ) None of which are considered a huge city like Toronto or what have u so everything has a short travelling distance between them..Riverview definitly has it's benefits with being more in the way of walking trails, nature, family orientated and such...As for Being french or English. it really doesn't or shouldn't affect where you live as all areas are considered bilingual and offer services as such....Where you would live would depend more on type of schooling. family orientated, and or budget...

Re: Moving to Moncton for a job

dieppe is good when you want to be close to shopping but riverview is more beautiful.Moncton has some nice parks too.Up salsbury road , not too far from toys for big boy is nice and quiet and they have a path along the river. It is about 10 minutes from moncton. And riverview.

Re: Moving to Moncton for a job

This may sound really ridiculous but why would you do that. Everyone fleeing WEST...

I don't know but that would surely be a clue. But it also depnds on your age and what your needs are. Maybe I am jumping the gun here but if you don't speak French you may want to rethink that decision.

    Good luck!

Re: Moving to Moncton for a job

Hi everyone, thanks for your answers. Actually I don't really have a choice. My job would be in Moncton so I don't thing moving west would be a good idea. I'm not gonna live in Montreal which is the biggest city and the closest one but still very far from work. And I repeat I speak English as you can see, so English is really not a obstacle. Anyway than you all for your opinions, it has helped me to make a decision. Now I just have to wait for the results, hope it's gonna work.
By the way I'm a 24 year-old man(maybe I write like a girl) so I would be treated like a KING no? lol

    Bye everyone!!
