Poll: What To Do, What To Brew

What To Do, What To Brew
I'm putting a batch of home made beer on tomorrow. As any brewer knows beer is beer, yawn, I have to make a custom brew. How do you suggest I make it?

    apples (tastes like cider)   (33.3%)
    oranges (tangy but powerful)   (11.1%)
kiwis (great for down south, coff coff, I did not say that)   (0%)
potatoes (gives the brew a vodka flavour but sometimes tastes like Johnson's wax)   (11.1%)
tomatoes (ah, the unknown fruit that goes well with everything)   (0%)
    ginger (great combination)   (11.1%)
root beer (root beer extract has to be added after fermentation as it kills the yeast)   (11.1%)
    regular beer (no way....I can't follow a recipe just as I can't read a road map. I'm a male, dammit. I don't ask for directions)   (22.2%)
    Total votes: 9

Actually I thought it would make a tangy vodka. So many experiments....So short time.

    Traditional Mead Recipe
Created by admin, April 30, 2007
    Ingredients
    At a glance
    Traditional Mead
    Makes
    5 gal (US)

This is for a 5 gallon batch:

12 lbs honey (dry mead with Original Gravity as low as 1.070-1.090),
15.5 lbs honey (medium mead - with Original gravity in between dry and sweet guidelines)
22 lbs honey (sweet with Original Gravity as high as 1.120)
    Yeast Nutrient
    Irish Moss
    5 gallons Spring Water

    Methods/steps

    Recipe Process
(Important: Always sterilize anything that will touch your mead first!) Bring 5 gallons of water up to 160 degrees and hold temperature. Pour in honey and stir until dissolved. Pasteurize honey water mixture at 160 for 20 minutes skimming off white protein foam as you go. Add Irish Moss (to help clear) with 15 minutes left.

Cool mead to 70 degrees for yeast pitching. Add mead mixture (must) to sterilized 5 gallon fermentor. Add yeast nutrient. Pitch in yeast (dry or sweet mead yeast depending). Add oxygen to must for 2-3 minutes by shaking with lid covered. Place airlock on top of carboy. Let ferment in dark room at 70 degrees.

Rack to secondary fermentor once yeast activity appears to have stopped. Rack to trimary to help clear. Bottle or keg when all fermentation is done and final gravity has reached required level. Carbonate when bottling or keep still. Depending. Enjoy!

Hey Notme, I never drank mead before but it is supposed to be a good sipping beverage. I once made maple syrop beer. It was extremely good. It contained wood alcohol which is deadly but luckilly I didn't drink too much because I was drinking beer earlier.

"You've just had a heavy session of electroshock therapy.  And you're more relaxed than you've been in weeks.  All those childhood tramas...magically wiped away!  Along with most of your personality.

"Now's the time...time for Spud!  (Oooohhh, SPUD!)

"Brewed with the refreshing taste of...potatoes!

"When you say Spud/ Just put your life on hold/ do what you're told

aaaaand open a cold refreshing Spud

Just watch your life go by/ no need to try

    When you've got Spud!"

    Anyone remember that?

That's my vote for potatoes, but I'm too late I guess eh?
