c103 attempts to erase memories of lisa marshal
http://trlprkgrl.proboards105.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=1148067489&page=1mike6x5 quote;
I'm sure most of you from Moncton know what former C103 morning show announcer Lisa Marshall has meant to our community.
I'm also sure you probably are more than a little suspicious of her rather abrupt departure from said radio station.
The following is a letter that I sent off to c103@c103.com noting my displeasure with the way they handled her leaving. Please feel free to send your own letter to them and BOYCOTT that station for not giving her the chance to say goodbye, and just forcing her to disappear.
----------------------------------------------------------------
Dear Sir, or Whomever it May Concern:
I can't begin to tell you how disappointed I am about Lisa Marshall leaving your radio station. Being one half of The Breakfast Club that has helped make C103 so wildly popular during the morning shows, I tuned in especially to hear her take on things and take in the uncannily warm banter between her and her partner Ernie Steeves. Ten years in that position together is something that will never be replicated, or even similated.
Something I have a problem coming to grips with is the notion that you are passing off that Lisa left without having any problem at all regarding not saying goodbye to her loyal audience. I heard through the grapevine her last show would be on May 18, and eagerly tuned in on the days leading up to it. Only to find out Andrew Stewart had already replaced her. This makes me wonder what kind of antics led up to this rather abrupt departure.
My wife and I have been in personal contact with Lisa on occasion through the years, and don't see her as the type that would do such a rash action. I've heard that she was planning on leaving, and we're okay with that, but not with the fact that we never heard any kind of sendoff or farewell. YOU OWED HER THAT. And you owed it to your audience, which was really HERS and ERNIE'S AUDIENCE.
I know something is wrong when I read dissenting points of view about her departure from your station, one of which I'd contributed, only to find you'd removed them shortly afterward. It makes me believe you're hiding something. Let me offer you one of my favorite quotes:
"Sooner or later, the time comes when you can't hide from the things that you've done anymore."
Lisa has served our community with undying passion for all the years that she's been here. She is a hero to Monctonians. And this is how you bid her farewell?
Shame on all of you.
You have officially lost die-hard, faithful listeners in my wife and myself. Not to mention countless others I've spoken to and heard about.
News station 91.9 fm and K94.5 fm are the new fixtures on my radio dial now. I'm spreading the news, and I'm leaving today.
Good luck rebuilding your station. You're going to need it.
Most very sincerely yours,
Mike Cook

Re: c103 fires lisa marshal
http://trlprkgrl.proboards105.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=1148067489&page=1 LADY OF AVALON QUOTE"
Here is the letter that I wrote to Mr. Nazi himself. What PISSED me off more than letting her go without a Good bye was censoring the localmoncton.com boards and taking down posts regarding her suspicious departure. Whatever happened to freedom of speech. Now we know what Lisa felt like every time he censored her. Shame shame.
Dear Mr. Montbourquette,
I am writing to express my absolute disappointment in hearing that Lisa Marshall is leaving your team. I, like many other faithful listeners, find it very hard to believe that she has "just left bigger and better things". I sincerely doubt that Ms. Marshall would leave her fan base without the courtesy of a good-bye show.
Lisa has kept us entertained and informed for the last ten years. We have laughed with her, we have cried with her. She has opened minds and broadened horizons. Lisa is incredibly generous, sincere, and strong. She has spirit and fire humor and more talent in her little finger than most radio personalities have in their whole bodies. She is truly an inspirational individual. I cannot fathom how you would just let her walk away. Do you even realize what you are losing? Lisa & Ernie as a team are like family to so many across the Maritimes. It was hard enough when we thought we were losing Ernie. Now, we are surely losing Lisa and I, for one, am devastated.
Tomorrow I will be searching for a new radio station to listen to. I am hoping that the station that reaps the rewards of your serious mistake will also have streaming radio and I will listen to Lisa from there. As part of the Moncton Gay Pride Senate I will be strongly recommending that the Parade committee finds another radio station to lead our parade. I'm sure it won't be difficult.
I didn't want to be rude in this letter, but honestly I have to say I do hope you enjoy fishing Mr. Montbourquette, because after today I think you will be fishing your ratings out of the toilette.
Sincerely,
Tina K. Hillier
Kristal A. Arbeau

They don't control here. We still have freedom of speech here. How does a person go about getting hold of her, I wonder![Uhm [uhm]](/emoticons/uhm.gif)

Re: c103 fires lisa marshal
http://trlprkgrl.proboards105.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=1148067489serenity quote: This sucks more than you know...foul play for sure. I know Lisa quite well and had dropped off a tip to the Times Transcript that her "Leaving for bigger and better things" happened abruptly at the hands of C103 management. I know another friend who did the same thing, and to my shock and dismay it looked as if sleuth took a phone call from the desk of HIlary Montbourquette himself. Nothing that was sent to sleuth had printed. However they did write about Lisa, but even the paper printed C103's lie's. It is true she was planning on leaving, and had given them notice already, but EVERY DAY she would ask her manager "can I do a goodbye show?" "what's happening with the going away show?". She gave them the courtesy of being professional by NOT going on air and telling the public without their permission and they screwed her over for being courteous and professional! Lisa wanted to have the greatest goodbye show ever, not for herself, but for everyone who had listened over the last ten years. She LOVED PEOPLE, She LOVED her listeners....and anyone who truly listened to that show, knew Lisa's heart, she wore it on her sleeve...anyone who listened would know that Lisa would never have left like that...without a goodbye! Even now she takes the higher road in spite of the low and dirty c103 did to her, and does not respond. Don't expect a single person at that station to champion for her, she was the one who stood up for others and always got in *** for it...yes from her boss MR. HIlary MOntbourquette. Well Lisa, I'm going to miss you, I have absolutely NO REASON TO LISTEN TO C103 ANYMORE. (You know things had to be bad if she quit without having a job to go to first!) You'll find work better than this Lis, I hope it's a place that allows you to really use your voice, instead of always being afraid you are going to catch *** for the fun or insightful things you'd say. May you find a radio station, or talk show that doesn't censor you. Funny how even after you are done at C103, they are still censoring you, your name, everything that might remind people of you. Feel good about that kid...they are living in fear of the vacuous hole you left on the air in Moncton. One of our other friends said "the only time radio says anything nice about it's announcers is when they get sick, or die....that way the station can cash in on the news. Do a good job and then have the nerve to leave though...and they sweep you under the rug without so much as a goodbye...for fear you'll take a listener with you. IN Lisa Marshall's case they better fear she'll take more than half of the listeners with her!
Write a letter to the editor about how you won't listen to C103 anymore now that Lisa's gone...but don't hold your breathe for it to get printed. I think the censorship is spreading.

![Sad [:(]](/emoticons/emotion-6.gif) Lisa's departure certainly seems very fishy. It just won't be the same without her...

Re: c103 fires lisa marshal
Is anyone else piss? I know I am.
I think Lisa is going to be missed by a great many fans especially on that early morning drive.
I, too am very dissatisfied with the clandestine exit of Lisa.
No farewell announcement?
Why?
It appears as of yesterday C103 has made no apologies to anyone, and that is reprehensible.
I read a post by someone who is calling for a Boycott of C103 until they explain why someone who meant so much to the community left in silence.
They owe that to you and I, and the entire community of listeners that has support them all these years and if you are not satisfied...
BOYCOTT!!!
