    Re: inspection sticker

Yes I do believe that we need them.I'm old enough to remember what it was like before them.Tires with the canvas showing through, bumpers and other parts held on with rope and tape.

Are they too strict,,,maybe. Its the price we pay .On the whole it is worth it.

Finding a garage to fix it and not leave you poor is the biggest problem.

    Re: inspection sticker

I've seen and/or owned some pretty rough vehicles in my life. When I passed a school bus on Elmwood Drive at 4:30 PM traffic, at 40 miles an hour, and a ball joint let go, it was a miracle nobody got hurt. I'd say safety inspections are a pain in the butt and a way for greedy repair shops to make lots of money. On the other hand are my other fingers and my other thumb. But seriously, a lot of crappy vehicles have to be removed from the road.

I bought some batteries, but they weren't included.

    Re: inspection sticker

I think that a new MVI sticker shouldn't be necessary every year , no !

But maybe every 2-3 years yes....with the "get it check" once twice a year kept in mind .

An older vehicle can get pretty deadly in 2-3 years.

Some places will pass your car no matter what.. kind of shady.. pass'em a few bills under the table and anything goes. Its not really a good system in my opinion. We do need some sort of safety system though.. too many deadly cars on the road.. and don't get me started about U-Haul ... dateline or 60 minutes did a story on them that was shocking!

Especially when you're pushing almost 400 horsepower.

    ah sorry

i agree it should be manditory to check certain items on a vehicules

like : brakes front end parts tires frames   but now they overdo it

also i think it should not be a private garage that does the inspection

that way no one would profit from doing the greed thing

    Re: inspection sticker

if you think the inspections are strick try newfoundland.over there even the interior light on the ceiling of your car must work, gass guage etc

    Re: inspection sticker

well  the real reason for them being so strict is that most of us are afraid to tell the government   and the money grabbers enought is enought

ah yes as for the gas gauge in newfie   imagine runnig out of gas  in the middle of nowhere and in a newfie winter
