How do some of these people get jobs anyway? Are they boss's nephews and nieces? Do they get hired just because they're bilingual? Do some wear kneepads to the personel office when applying? My sister recently purchased a laptop as a Christmas gift. The dial up modem lasted for one day. She had a 3 year extended warranty. Fine and dandy. She brought it back and told them the "Modium" wasn't working. My sister calls the monitor a TV so we all know how much she knows about computers. They laughed and told her it didn't come with a dial up modem. She was told she would have to wait til 5:00 PM for somebody to come in to check it. It was 3:30 PM and she decided to return it and get a more expensive desk top. That's A-OK as it is a very nice machine and I really enjoyed setting it up for the other person. Back to my bitching and complaining. I rechecked the laptop on their website and it indeed came with a V90 56K modem which is used for dialup connections if I'm not mistaken. Also the alleged moron who was on duty should have realized that if there is a jack on the side it's usually part of a component. Were they too busy or too stupid to look up their own product on the computer? I was so p155ed off when I heard this that I called the store but gave up after 15 minutes of elevator music. Besides it's more fun to vent here and more people will probably listen. Next time she won't be doing business with a Big Box company but somebody who hires people who treat their customers a bit better. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Is that some kind of store on the west coast? I don't want to sound stupid but never heard of it. 

Gee that sounds an awful lot like Staples. My sister-in-law bought a laptop from them. When asking them if she could upgrade the memory they informed her she would have to re-format her whole harddrive in order to add more memory. These people are complete morons and shouldn't be allowed near computers let alone selling them.

Nothing wrong with being a moron. GOD made a lot of us. A salesperson should know his or her product before dealing with a computer illiterate customer.

I bought my laptop at Staples as so far I've had no problem with their service.  Futur Shop on the other hand..... Let's just say I'll never buy electronics there again

If a customer says she's having trouble with a part of the product check it out before you tell her it doesn't have that part.
