I finally got to see this movie last night. Ok, I downloaded it from a torrent site (just don`t tell anyone).

A great movie and of course very funny. It was a little dissapointing, but I put that down to the fact I had seen a lot of trailers/clips which kind of spoiled the plot for me.

Many, many funny moments. The way he humiliates politicians and the guy of the street in his totally innocent way is amazing.

Highlights:

He visits an upper class family and tries to learn some etiquette/manners. Unfortunately it all goes wrong and he is asked to leave, then the cops are called. Funny moment when he asks to use their bathroom, a few minutes later he comes back to the table and asks the lady where he should put this. It was a small plastic bag full of poop ;D The look on their faces is priceless!

Another moment, he gets an interview with a US congressman who is totally fooled by believing he is a genuine Kasak reporter. He offers the congressman some cheese, saying it is a tradition among his people. After the politician starts eating, Borat explains it was made by using his wifes teeth. The congressman`s face, again priceless.

How on earth Borat gets away with some of these things is unbelievable!

One moment, very funny but also a little too much. He has an argument with his fat producer/friend. He finds Azamad jerking off on his Baywatch magazine and freaks. Both with no clothes on, they fight and wreck the hotel room then go running through the hotel with no clothes on and end up in a board room full of business people. They wrestle around, everything in full view. The faces on these people in total shock, and the security guards chasing them.

You have to remember none of this is staged or planned. That`s what makes it so good, none of suspects have any idea they are being filmed!!

You get to learn, Borat is looking to find Pamela Anderson whom he falls in love with after seeing her on a cable tv channel in the hotel.

Highly recommended, but it`s not for everyone. Some may find it insulting but then no one is forced to watch it!

I love how he looks upon Jews as the devil and money grabbers. While he himself (Sacha Boron Cohen) is a Jew in real life!

Oh man, that fight with the naked guys in the hotel room was HILARIOUS!  Precious when they go to the packed elevator!

High five!

I almost choked laughing about the nude fight. That definately was the highlight of the whole movie.

That and the part where he boarded in that Jewish household, when he found out they were Jewish!  That was funny, then he went and had a dump in a Ziploc bag and brought it down to them at the supper table.

I thoroughly enjoyed that movie. I have not laughed so hard in years. I am still laughing. I think it was a wild attempt at learning about anti-semitism , and really how Americans think of other cultures. I think American need to change their view of others and the world. Boy did he make a fool out of them...I love it!

The best scene, I thought, was when he was in that house eating dinner with the rich people trying to learn some etiquette (Just before he craps in a Ziploc).  He is there with three women and their husbands.  Borat is speaking to one of the men and he says something like (speaking of two of the women):

"In my country, they would go crazy for these two."  (Note that both are probably pushing 65.)

Borat then blurts out (indicating the third lady):

"This one... not so much..."

Hi Fife! The fight is the best part of the movie! I am not gay, but i have to confess i watched it over and over probably 5 times!

I'm downloading it now.

"The Hebrew Hammer", is all about Goldberg as the certified circumcised private dick title character, a Jewish combination of Shaft, Superfly, and Mike Hammer, who sets about to defeat an evil Santa Claus who has sworn to put an end to Hanukkah. A campy, silly, an occasionally outrageous slam fest, this flick takes potshots at Jews, Afro-Ams, and white gentiles as our not-so-super-hero goes after Santa armed only with a babe, big guns, and guilt trips. What the film lacks in class and production value it almost makes up for with nonstop kosher comedy of the same ilk at Scary Movie, Naked Gun, Airplane, etc. Only for those into wacky slampoons who aren't concerned with political correctness. - George Parker

Borat is a comic genius. Borat spits out the most outrageous racist and sexist statements he can think of, but you have to admit it’s the reaction of most of his unknowing victims that proves to be the most interesting aspect of Borat. If there’s a way to stir the pot he does it. But what this mockumentary should do is to make us examine our values not anger you. I realize he skewers Western values at every turn. For example when he goes into the gun store and asks the owner which gun to buy to kill Jews, and the store owner replies a 9mm would do,  to carrying on a conversation with the head of a rodeo about killing all homosexuals and then whipping up that rodeo crowd by praising America’s "war of terror", he's just as offensive as the genuinely shocking responses he elicits.
He knows exactly which buttons to push and then just keeps on pushing them. It's really very easy to see why some of the 'innocent' people Borat encountered while filming are so enraged over being included in his movie. Others are definitely not so fortunate, and those are the ones that provide the film with its most memorable and shocking scenes.

Like him or loathe him, Sacha Baron Cohen delivers an absolutely amazing performance that audiences won't forget. It is without a doubt one of the best performances by an actor in 2006, maybe even of the decade. Although Babel was quite good too.

By the way his co-conspirator and companion on the road, Ken Davitian is so believable as well, but he seems to come in under the radar (which may be a good thing for him, but if he trying to be a star everyone seems to have forgotten who he is and are so focused on the main character Sacha "Borat")

While the movie may be fearless, disgusting and hilarious, I must say that it left me chuckling while at the same time thinking about the root causes of bigotry and prejudice, and for that reason Borat’s a must-see... High Five!
