    Celebrity NEWZ

What happened to all the real orphans? As soon as they get scooped up by superstars, suddenly everyone's their parent (in related news, Meg Ryan, you have my daughter). In Touch interviewed a woman in Awassa, Ethiopia, who claims to be the mother of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's adopted daughter Zahara, who will be three in January. She says Z's grandmother, Almaz Elfneh, dropped the baby off at the orphanage and told the officials that the baby's mother was dead. But 24-year-old onion merchant Mentewab Lebiso says the real story went that she was worried her daughter would die, and so she ran away.

"We have to trust the documents we received from the local government," said Dr. Tsegaye Berhe, who's in charge of the Ethiopian branch of Horizons for Children, the organization Angelina adopted from. "[Almaz Elfneh]'s signed a document saying, 'My daughter had died and she left the child behind.'" Dr. T confirmed to In Touch that Almaz is Zahara's natural grandmother, as listed in the adoption records. Mentewab and her mom, Almaz, have considered filing a lawsuit to get Zahara back, but they have no money.

In the event that Mentewab is Zahara's birth mother, it's unlikely that Angelina will adopt the rest of the family. "I don't believe that somebody's family becomes their blood, because my son's adopted, and families are earned," she told Premiere in 2004. "Zahara was days away from death and Angelina saved that child," a source close to Angelina told In Touch. "As far as she is concerned, that bonded her to that little girl forever."

If Zahara somehow gets swept back to Africa, Angelina is not above cracking out the Tomb Raider moves, so you've been warned, babymama. Do you really want to mess with a woman who owns a riding crop?

    What do you think?

    "What do you think?"

    Just say "NO" to drugs.

I really don't quite understand your response. Maybe you should take your advice, seriously.

    Re: Celebrity NEWZ

I said "NO" to drugs quite a few years ago, maybe everyone in the article you posted should do the same, because it is very clear to me that they certainly love their crack pipes more than everything else.

    Re: Celebrity NEWZ

How can you say such things when it pertains to human lives...children. They are not my favorite people in terms of actors but their work or quest to help orphans is a good noble deed. I can't say that they do crack but they were good enough to adopt children who need good homes.

    Shame on you!

"their work or quest to help orphans is a good noble deed"

    Most "noble deeds" go un-spoken.

Or a far, far, better topic is: when does a "noble deed" stop being "noble"? (this seeming to me as to being "one of those times".)

Sometime noble deed have to spoken about to bring about a type of awareness...

I don't know you but what have you done to help anyone and that includes yourself.

    Re: Celebrity NEWZ

I certainly did not find it "noble" enough to:
    1) travel to Ethiopia to adopt a "pretend" orphan (which begs another question: when does adopting a "pretend orphan" in another country turn into "stealing" someone's kid?)
    2) talk about it (*thinking* how foolish I would look with a list of good deeds pinned to my back)

And a little later in the day.....................

I suppose there were no orphans to be found in the good ole US of A that needed adopting, or: does adopting a "home grown" orphan have no media impact?

    And later still...................

My good deeds go un-spoken, selfish "git" that I am, because I do not want to lessen their value.

While on all points you are correct, I still think its a very noble deed and I am entitle to my opinion aren't I?

    Re: Celebrity NEWZ

I won't go to say it wasn't a noble deed but couldn't they contribute to the orphanages that needs more help and $$$ instead of adopting from those regions? There are many orphans that needs homes right where they are both from. They have enough money between them to donate to a large number of orphanages and make a bigger difference that just letting one, two or three kids get a lucky break.

When I first heard this story, I thought "Ahh very good media, they are soo noble that they adopt from other countries but only help with a few kids and not the others that are unfortch. to not be picked by them" I thought it looked like it was all for the attention of teh media more than being noble. If they truly want to be noble, they would live on a regular salary and donate the rest to the parts of the world (even their home land that needs it) that needs it. Imagine if all celebs would do that. There would be hardley any poverty in the world. But naw those celebs are so important they needs those extra millions each year, f*ck the ones that only eats once a week, they need new cars each week and pay 500$ A MEAL for one.

Now that's what you call a screwed up world.

Just waiting till it's all over.

I don't think it is noble what they did nor is it a bad thing...I don't care for either people too much in reference to actors but as human beings they did adopt children as they have the means and love to do so...Let it end at that.. It may seem like a publicity thing but how can it not be..look who they are...they can't piss without a pic being taken..And honestly if i had that type of money I can't say that I wouldn't consider doing the same thing.  Yes they are children and organizations around Canada and the US looking for families but there are also millions of parents waiting to adopt these children..Which brings up another question...if there are so many children waiting to be adopted then why are soo many wonderful parents waiting up to ten yearsto adopt????  Looks there is a flaw there somewheres...

If two people want to adopt from another country because it is in their heart to save even one child don't *** on them....They could be out partying and blowing their money on drugs and booze or just in general pulling a Britney Spears....Angelina has brought alot of attention to these children who have virtually nothing..Are you going to *** on oprah for the attnetion she gives to the children in Africa...She has put millions into helping them..Cmon people..leave these people alone...they help were some of us can't ....

I know it's a old post but had to comment on the "Which brings up another question...if there are so many children waiting to be adopted then why are soo many wonderful parents waiting up to ten yearsto adopt????  Looks there is a flaw there somewheres..."

The reason why there is such a long waiting period is because most parents wants babies and not kids. A child that has a past (with their biological parents) might have many many issues that adopting a baby would not have. I still don't agree with celebs getting tons of $$$ (more than what is needed to live on) while we have doctors that are makign a real difference in life that arren't getting nearly a 1/4 of what these people get per year. what a shame. The actors that keeps us entertained gets all the $$$$$$$ and doctors that saves our lives get only a misly $.

    Re: Celebrity NEWZ

meh I'm not crying over doctors pay cheques. I'll cry over those in the service industry though, and ditch diggers, etcetera and I'll damn sure yell about "entertainers, athletes, and CEOs" making more in a day than some folks make in a year.

But then I am a commnist ( a real one and no china and russia aren't they could call themselves free democracies and it wouldn't be the case either).
