Economical gift Ideas for the Holidays

With the Holiday Season coming I thought it would be a good idea to post a thread for people to share with others great ideas for gifts at a great price...We all could use help in saving a couple of bucks this holliday season...

While I was out shopping today I compared some prices and checked out a bunch of toys...Here are a few of my discoveries and suggestions...

Dollar store up by the Walmart and Michaels...

~ everything for stocking stuffers...good qulaity stuff!!!

~ Battery operated car  ...see Video..$3.00..plays a song  continuously (a lil annoying for parent..kids love) It rolls the convertable top up on it's on..headlights come on and it just keeps moving till it bumps into something then turns itself around..they have a few different types of this

~ Barbie....See Video...$3.00 ..1 barbie (good quality not cheap plastic) ,,2 dresses, brush and hair access, clothes hanger. also a stage

~ Tim Horton Gift cards...why this is better then gift certificates?  Fits in wallet, won't tear, don't worry about having spare change and best of all they can replenish card after the use up what you put on it initially..This can be done either online or in person..VERY CONVENIANT...

    ~ Kijiji,,,,,,,,,They have everything!!!  I am ADDICTED!!!

~ Giant Tiger, Two cars (big) with race track..(remote control for cars)  This is a really decent size with loop de loops ..$39.99

Hell do you have anything that you would like to sell that you think would be a good gift for someone else for Christmas..post it here!!

That is an awesome idea especially at this time of the year where some people do not have a lot of excess cash this a great way to shop and save and buy for anyone on your shopping list.

The Dollar Store on Mapleton , ( in the old K- Mart Plazza ) is a great place to buy if you are on a real tight budget.

For your home , office or office needs, there  is NO better supplier. ( Calendars for  a Dollar )

If you have never been in one of these, check it out.

    Then kiss Wal-mart goodbye...

    Here is what I want:

At $39.95 it may seam a bit pricey at first but it is autographed and has taxes and shipping included. The taxes and shipping equal about half the price alone. That is one heck of a deal for a souveneer of one of the greatest Canadians who ever walked, or hitchiked, this great land we call Canada.  I think I'm going to buy two of them, one for my dad and one for me. Well, finally folks, HERE IT IS! The One Book that so many Stompin' Tom fans have been waiting for. The Book that contains All the Words and Chords to practically every song I have either personally written, co-written, or traditionally arranged as well as recorded over the last 40 years. I say 'practically every song' because I may have missed one or two that I recorded on the now obsolete 45 rpm singles in Timmins, Ont. when I was first getting started. Nevertheless, I think this book with over 250 songs is probably, up until now, the most extensive song collection ever compiled on any one song writing artist, and they’re all under the one cover. It took quite a while but I'm finally glad it's done.

The many people who have written me over the years, asking for song lyrics, will also be glad it's done, no doubt. From now on, when ever they play an album, all they have to do is pick up the book and sing right along, whether the song is a well known one or not. And of course the chords are there also for anyone who sings and plays an instrument and wants to have a little fun. That's what a lot of these songs were written for; Having Fun.

The books I ordered are paid for.

The board has already found a home.

Jean St. Pierre of Embro, Ontario who is the winning recipient of the 2006 "Sings The Songs of Canada" tour Sound Check Stompin' Board.

Stompin' Tom drew the name this afternoon right out of his own Cowboy Hat, and Tom has personally autographed the board for Jean.

Thank you to all that entered, and Tom thanks you all for being such great fans. We hope you enjoy all the great merchandise that came with the contest entry fee.

Keep an eye out in the future for any new contests www.StompinTom.com may announce.

    Congratulations Jean!!!
