Many years ago I had an Art Gallery . . .

Many years ago I had an Art Gallery called 'The Gallery of Friends'. It was located in Markham, Ontario which is a quaint little town just north of Toronto.
The gallery typically featured a wide collection of artists' works; but occasionally we exhibited, one man shows - they were my favorite and I met some very interesting and talented people through them.
One quite successful exhibit was by an artist named J. Austin Floyd.  I remember when he came in with his son to arrange the show - he was very excited.  His art consisted of a mixture of oils and photos with one 'lone watercolour' dated 1945.  His son came by, many months later, to tell me that his father had died.  JAFHe told me how much the show had meant to his father and presented me with that 'lone watercolour', I had so much admired.  He said his father had mentioned many times that he was going to bring the painting and a letter to me, but never got around to it.
I treasure the painting and often think how fortunate I was to meet and befriend such a nice, talented man.  - Steve
