I've been to Taj Mahal and that other one on Killam. Both were really good.

I bought some batteries, but they weren't included.

I thought that too, but my drive to "know" outweighed my "ewww" factor, and it was at a time where if I didn't like it not drinking it and paying for a new drink wouldn't have been out of the question. Well that and my wife was there with me so odds were one of us would drink it.

I really enjoyed it, so did she. The taste is there but not overwhelmingly so.  I was afraid it would taste alot more bitter and strong than it did. I know normally I like strong tastes but this was nice and umm mellow.

The idea of a milk shake, of any flavour, with Indian food doesn't really appeal. Is it thick enough to take it as a dessert?

I sipped on it through the meal and finished the bulk of it off as a dessert, My indian food isn't usually very hot (butter chicken naan and plain rice with the sauce from the butter chicken  mixed in.)

I just figured I'd bump this.

I went to Taj Mahal yesterday and it was absolutely delicious. Not a bad spot to bring a date either.

Nope it really isn't, espescially if your date isn't a "one of the guys" kinda girls. I can definately see it winning you some major points in the "classy" "mannered" "sophisticated" "romantic" and "financially secure" departments.

I always wanted to try it out but woudl always by-pass it and not even notice it was there when I was hungry. I was working had nothing to do so decided to go by myself. It was great, went like 5 times since then. I would defenatly go every week.

We have never tried either restaurant, but you all have sold me! Can someone tell me if the menu has kid friendly selections? In case we bring the family.

I never noticed. I don't think they have a kids menu, but what we did was order a couple of different items on the menu with a side of rice and bread, and we just shared everything. That way you could make your own kid-size plate.

In my opinion (though vlad's suggestion would work as well) given the ambience and what not the Taj Mahal works much better as couples / multiple couples type of environment. I'd save it for a night when you have a sitter or the kid(s) are out at a friends or another family members over night.

Oh and fennel seed even the candy coated ones ... very small amount, trust me.
