Re: Poll: To Tip or not to Tip...That is the question

Tipping has gotten so expected and embedded into out brains that when I get a $35 order of pizza delivered to my door;;I apologize for only being able to give a $2 tip

As for the tipping a quarter at tims everytime I get a coffee..uhmm not me...maybe a nickle or a dime what have u...If I bought four coffees a day @ 25 cents a tip that equals $1.00 extra a day and at an average of 30 days in a month for 12 months....well..I have just given  you $360 to pass me a coffee in a year

I remember going to a bar once and the bartender actually gave me a tip. He told me "Stop trying to pick up that lady at the end of the bar. She's my wife."
Remember yesterday, respect tomorrow, live for today.

Hug a tree, it's bark is worse than it's bite.

A dime or nickel, the person behind the counter doesnt care.. I would say 80% of people give me a quarter if the service is goood. Some even tips dollars, because i tend to be fast.

I tip for good service. Not even above and beyond. As long as the server/stylist/whoever was pleasant, smiled, acknowledged me, did as required, I'll tip. Go above and beyond, I'll tip very well.

Don't give me the "I had a long day, and 30 miserable customers, so I can get away with not smiling at you." Nope, sorry. Service IS a stressful career. You WILL have miserable customers, you WILL be tired. Call centers too are very stressful, you will have a**holes. I answer their calls everyday. It doesn't give me the right to be short with the next caller. Can't handle it, don't take the job, or if you are already doing the job move on.

I get my coffee every day at the Tims in Highfield square. It is busy, the employees there put up with a lot of different people, cranky, dirty, slow, rude. But they ALL always smile, and have a friendly word to each and every customer. They are awesome!

Should I ever win the lottery and get to visit a fancy dancy hotel I plan to carry my own suitcases to my room then hold out my hand expecting a tip from the bellhop.
