I really think that no one here is impressed that YOU are not impressed.

You actually believe that YOU can break Canada's Laws, or the Rules of this Forum?

You have a real Problem there.

Ya can count me in on not being impressed with deletions......editing.....and even banning.  I believe I posted this elsewhere.  My opinion and that's not breaking any rules.

    • No personal attacks against other Memebrs
    3) There is no discussion about beastiality, rape, underage sex, incest, racial slurs or anything considered illegal in Canada, and or the place you are from. If we feel a topic is questionable, we will immediately delete it or lock the topic.

    5) We have many people participating from all over the world on this board, coming from all different backgrounds and cultures, so please be understanding of a wide range of thoughts and opinions. You can absolutely debate the issues here, but do not crucify a person for his/her beliefs or opinions. They are solely those of that particular person.

    6) Do not use any derogatory or inflammable language toward anyone on this board. This goes along with the rule #5. Just because you don't see eye to eye, doesn't mean that you resort to name calling and cursing at one another.

    7) We do not condemn personal political and religious beliefs on this board. We get passionate enough when we're talking about subjects which we feel are important, we all come from different places and different experiences and my beliefs may not the be the same as yours. Regardless, this is an open discussion site, not a religious or political one.

    8) As moderators of this board, we can delete any posts or ban any member that we feel is inappropriate or acting inappropriately. Because this board can get extremely busy at times, we do not need to contact you with a reason why. If your post is gone, it is gone, simply gone. Come back and check on the rules to see where you might have gone wrong.

    9) If there is a member causing problems on this board, or if there is a post that upsets you terribly, please use the link at the bottom of the post that says "Report this post". Give us your reasons and as soon we have a moment to check on it, we will take care of the problem. Please do not take matters into your own hands. Many times the person is only trying to get a rise out of you anyway, so by getting upset, you've only given him/her what he/she wanted. If we do not get an email about it, we will find it soon enough and delete it or take whatever actions we need to take.

    17) If we receive too many complaints about a particular user from other users of the forum, the user may be banned from this Forum.  The complaints must be legitimate, i.e. violation of the above rules. The first ban is temporary, lastting from two weeks to a month. The next ban is permanent.

    18) In order to keep Topix an informative and fun place to be, everyone who posts messages here must understand and follow these basic principles:

    • Treat others as you would like to be treated. We encourage the exchange of opinions and healthy disagreements, but do so respectfully. Name calling, harassment or abuse will not be tolerated.
    • Do not post any material that is defamatory, obscene, unlawful, threatening, in breach of copyright, or otherwise objectionable. Furthermore, posts that discriminate against any person on grounds of race, sex, age, or religion will be removed.
    • Topix reserves the right to remove any post that does not relate to the topic being discussed; to organize the message boards; and delete or edit any message that we feel violates Topix Terms and Agreements Policy and/or Message Board Rules in word or in spirit. Topix is not responsible for the content of its Message Board

Re: green eyed envy or sour grapes

I am surprised and a bit dissapointed that you have decided to return at this time to try to debate something that is really not open to debate.
You have given your opinion. Fine. Acknowledged. However,it changes nothing. You accepted the Rules when you joined.
    Everyone did upon joining.

If any here feel that THEY are above the Law or the Rules, please let me suggest that you find another Forum.
This will be my last comment on this issue.

Nope, Paladin, I, for one, know I am not above the law or the rules but I truely, really, a whole bunch, love discussing things like this.

You mentioned to me before that some forums don't even allow posters to question the rules or question the moderator.  That was telling me a thing or two.  A little warning maybe?  I dunno, but I did say I will respect the rules, having said that, why not discuss the rules openly.  It's of interest to everyone, giving their opinions etc.

Re/finding another forum.  I did.  I found this forum.  I like the atmosphere of it being one great big free for all in here, people posting all over the place, nobody whinning about being "off topic" which ruins a forum in my opnion.  Forums are like a kitchen table.....the conversation breaks out and it happens......one conversation leads to another.  So?  Where would I rather be right now?  Here, where ya can party in any topic within limits, nobody is calling my Grandmother a trashed out whore, nobody is trying to dig up my personal information and people seem to be "good" people with respect for each other.  If banning, editing or deleting is to take place, I can live with that, although I don't agree with it.....it's minor compared to the other things I just mentioned about forums.

    yup

Exactly what I am trying to get across ,but however I cannot agree with the deletion or descimination of another members right to express their opinions of said subject.

Re: green eyed envy or sour grapes

One forum I frequent has over 7000 members. With 900+ active regularly. It is strictly moderated, with spam, trolls, and flaming deleted promptly. Everyone gets along fine save a few arguments occasionally.
Discrimination is not allowed. It is a very busy forum with pages of new posts daily. No-one complains about the moderating. It keeps people in check and levels the "playing field".

I am all for debating, I like to argue. Lastworditis is my middle name. But I do not agree with discrimination. I would feel as strongly if someone posted negatively about French, Chinese, black, green or purple people. We can debate without making it personal. Sexuality is personal. This goes both for bashing it AND promoting it. Neither should be allowed here. Politics, religion and sexuality are hot topics. Best to avoid if we can't be civil. This is just my opinion.

Well neither do I agree, one, but what can ya do eh?

Maybe what went on were growing pains for everyone and this will be even a better place.  I just took a peek at the stats here.  These forums have the makings to be really BIG if they're handled properly.  It's difficult to attract new posters to forums and is something all forums want, but the criteria for that is in the makings by the looks of the visitors here.  What they are seeing is good stuff.....people talking....humour....a moderator who interacts and welcomes people........I'm rambling.......

So....maybe this was a good thing in the long run.

    My typing??

Yes it is a big forum. It is 8 years old. I never give the name. LOL Mostly because I am usually bragging about it in a situation like this, and frankly I don't want to ruin it. People who think rules are not necessary need not go there. LOL

This forum has the capacity to be huge ,but only if they give each and every member the right and priveledge to express their beliefs and views without fear of being penalized for such.....................
