    Got the job!!

Hi there! I've just received an email and I GOT THE JOB!!! I'm torn between the fact that I'm gonna leave my family and the fact that I'm gonna start a new life with my girlfriend. But it seems that the joy is stronger than the sadness. I have a phone interview next week with the head of the Moncton office. Wish me good luck! I'm so excited (and I just can't hide it!).

    YYYEEAAAHHH!!!!!!

    Congratulations!

Where are you leaving your family from? Is it gonna be that far away from Moncton.

    Re: Got the job!!

    Hello everybody,
My job interview is on wednesday and I would like to know, if she pops the question, how much money I am allowed to ask for this job. I don't know exactly what is a good salary in Moncton and how much you have to earn to live a good life. So if you have any peace of advice, feel free to tell me. I am curious. I don't wanna ask a too low salary and I don't want to ask too much and be disrespectful. This is a translation job in Lexi-Tech International, I have 5 years of studies and I am a great worker I swear!!!
    Thanks very much in advance.

    Bye!!

    Re: Got the job!!

Whatever you do, don't give the first number.  If only for the fact that you are from far away and don't know how much is a good salary in Moncton.  If she pops the question, tell her you aren't aware of what salary ranges are in Moncton, then ask what is their pay scale.  Then, based upon what you believe are your qualifications, experience and abilities, situate yourself within that pay scale.  Because an employer is only looking for one thing by asking that question, and that's for you to accidentally throw in an unknowing low ball offer and they can get off cheap.

    Salary issue

    Hi, it's me again!

Still thinking about this salary thing, it's really important to me (well actually to everybody) I don't realize if for instance 30 000$ a year is a good salary. I don't know how taxes work, maybe it's worse than in France. If I earn 30 000$ a year is it under the average rate? Will I pay taxes? Is it enough ? I'm freaking out, I don't wanna move here and realize I don't have much money...
    Help me out please!!
