My friend has a scorpion on his neck but he doesn't have any skulls on it.

May I ask where that tattoo is? (just cause it looks like you had to shave to get it or you shave at that area lol)

    Right upper arm

A friend was getting his retouched and told me if I wanted one he'd pay for it just to see how I'ld take the pain. I'm a scorpio, with a somewhat dark inner personality so I chose that one.

Edit and Yes I need to like take a bath in nair or something. When I was 4 mom asked what I wanted to be when I grew up. I said "a gorilla" and God thought it would be funny to give me what I asked for.

No tattoos for me.  Too permanent.  I'd end up hating any tattoo eventually.

I don't hate any of mine yet and I've had my first one for 10 years now. I love them all and they are now a part of me. I gave alot of thought towards them and choose them very carefully. I even forget sometimes I have them until I see one in the mirror or when we go to bed (the one on my front hip) but other than that hardly think about them.

That was my usual stand but 1) it was free 2) Most of my family are "bad ass biker dudes and dudesses" so I was the odd person out without one 3) I've identified with most parts of the astrological scorpio (even though taken as a whole I find the idea that personalities are shaped by where the stars were when you were born is ludicrous) 4) I got permission from my wife first it is the body she has to spend the rest of her life with too. 5) Mid life ish crisis

Re: My new and very swollen/sore tattoo

    I see.

    1) I would have to pay. No one has offered to pay for me.  2) My family is comprised of exactly 0 biker dudes or dudesses, much less bad ass biker dudes and dudesses. 3) Like you, I am also scorpio, and put no faith in the power of the stars to shape my personality.  I don't know if I identify with the astrological scorpio though. 4) I never sought said permission. 5) I'm not having a mid-life crisis (yet).

So, are you regretting the tattoo yet?  When did you get it...?

I know I would end up hating mine and finding it embarrassing.  Plus, as the years go by, I get more and more unique as one of the rare people who doesn't have a tattoo. H ahahahh ha hahahah ha hah ha

I also get old and crotchety.  Darned kids and their tattoos!!

Re: My new and very swollen/sore tattoo

Haha well I never asked for permision to get any of my tattoos (but i understand why you did). I decided to get my first one and thought I knew what I wanted and it would have just been a small lizard, snake or spider on my hip (something I could hide easily) so my husband was all for it but he had to stay home cause we had just had my son a few months ago. Well you should have seen the shock look on his face when I got home with my pants half way down my a$$ lol. And to make things worse my mom was at my house waiting for me to get home cause she just couldn't believe I was getting a tattoo lol. It took a few mins to get them to say anything. My ex-husband was more jealous than mad cause his tattoo is pretty small compaired to my first one (plus he didn't like the idea of having someone almost seeing my a$$). He always said he would get another one but I think he's too chicken and then each time he found out I got another tattoo he would still tell me he would get another one.

I never once asked Keith for my last 2 tattoos. I just told him I was going and would leave. He didn't know what I was getting or anything. My last tattoo he was shocked to sh*t to see what I got lol. It's my fav and I have no regrets. Many people told me it was stupid but I tell them I have my reasons for getting it. for example, he is the first guy that never laid a hand on me and other reasons too but that one is the main one.

That was one thing I made sure they could be covered if I wanted to. The only that would be visable if I wear a bikini would be the one on my shoulder. Other than that No one would know I have tattoos cause they are all under clothes. I didn't get my tattoos for others to see. I got them for myself to have and love.

Re: My new and very swollen/sore tattoo

I got it in October of 07. No regrets yet, except one .. the wait on donating blood. That had slipped my mind when I was in the tattoo shop. Looking back had I remembered I likely would have done it anyway so I don't know if that counts as a regret or not but I do feel kinda bad that I haven't been able to give.

I likely never would have gotten one had I had to pay, it's not a necessity and serves no purpose whatsoever. Also there was a sign in the shop "welcome to your new addiction" and it is correct now that I have one I want more. I think the other arm needs "comedy and tragedy" the theatre masks.

I have ,and continue to wear, alot of masks
    I like the theatre
There have been many comedic and tragic moments in my life.

I should have just gotten a charm bracelet 8)
