WELL  IT SEEMS  THE  JOKES ON US ABOUT YOUR COUNTRY.  BUT TO SHOW YOU THAT OUR SCHOOLS  DON'T DO A GOOD JOB AT ALL ON THE TEACHINGS OF YOUR COUNTRY,  AND WE DON'T KEEP UP ON THINGS LIKE THE CAPITAL OF CANANA  WHICH I KNOW IS NOT TORONTO, BUT OTTAWA.

It's CANADA. And the capital shouldn't be something to "keep up on" - it's been the same since this country's beginning.

HEY YOU GUYS MAKE JOKES ABOUT YOUR OWN COUNTRY OR THINGS IN IT. YOU COMPLAIN ABOUT THE SPERATION OF THE TWO PROVIONCES  AND  OH YES ALL THE NEWFIEW  JOKES  WHO TELLS THEM  YOU ALL DO, NOT US.

We make jokes because we have a sense of humor about our country's imperfections and idiosyncrasies. That's slightly different than trashing our country and overlooking it's positives. And we tell Newfie jokes because they're clean and funny ... somewhat different than the "redneck" jokes that often involve far lower moral standards. That being said ... there are good and bad of each.

Oddly enough, I had a relative and an acquaintance living in Kingston and making their living by working in a motel. Had another friend who lived in the Valley and for years made his living working on the golf course. And my old flame from college said he makes his living in CFB Greenwood. Huh. Had no idea my friends were all such liars!

That is awesome, Notme. I didn't mean to say that all kids are lazy - just that you have to expect kids to whine and complain sometimes. I love picking berries, pesonally .. and my kids love to come with me. But there are days that all of us - even when there by choice - complain about the mosquitoes. To those who stick it out and enjoy the payoff, it is a very valuable experience. The younger they can learn, the better they'll appreciate the value of a dollar. Wink [;)]

Re: A Truly Canadian Apology to the U.S./ A Truly Apology to Canada!

wow...I came really late to this one  but hey  I always enjoy stirring the pot so here goes,

I'm sorry to the american, that he's gay, underpaid, and enjoying our medicare system while complaining about our taxes. I'm sorry he wasn't bright enough to realize that healthy food isn't taxed only junk food is and that's to help keep obesity levels down unlike our fat neighboring country. Big Smile [:D] I'm also sorry you never realized that while some provinces charge tax on clothes, others don't and I'd much rather make a trip over the bridge then cross into the states for cheap clothing. I'm sorry you don't realize some schools have art and music, and I'd better tell my kids school that they have to shut those programs down because some stupid american decided no school in Canada has one. I'm sorry you can't stop complaining about the price of gas that went up almost 20 cents a liter after YOUR stupid president started a war. I'm sorry the cost of milk went up too because they have to pay for gas to transport that milk to the stores. I'm sorry for your wait times with the doctor, but it's FREE and what can you say about your precious american doctor's fee's? I'm sorry Your country sucks so much that you had to move into MY country and bash things that happened because of YOUR president. I'm also sorry that our children are more willing to work and not get fat and lazy like american children do.

Now then, if you don't like Canada and all it has to offer, you're better off taking your lazy ass off to your own country and bash us from there because as long as your in MY country taking advantage of all it has to offer, you should be singing it's praises and thanking this country every day for allowing all those lazy, pig-headed, arrogant americans in.  Big Smile [:D]

    Timmie;s anyone?  Wink [;)]

I'm smiling. That alone should scare you.

Gosh, Spinny, if that isn't just what I was trying to say in a little nicer way?! You had to go and blow the atmosphere of love, didn't ya?! Stick out tongue [:P]

I don't have Timmie's ... but my kiddies made coffee for LittleFoot and tea for me, so you can have your pick of "brew" here. Big Smile [:D]

Re: A Truly Canadian Apology to the U.S./ A Truly Apology to Canada!

My dad was born American. My mom was born Canadian. I was born Canadian. I could have been an American had the American army recruited soldiers a year younger than they did. My dad would have joined the American army instead of taking off (eh) to Canada where the age was a year younger and may have not met my mother. Americans are Americans. Canadians are Canadians. Either has the freedom to stop being one and become the other. That's what makes both of our countries so great. Argue on in peace and please don't hurt or kill each other.

shock [shock] Oh my word...That's what I get for posting something then going MIA for a week. Well said all you Proud to be Canadians. As for Tiggy, before I digress I'll say it now. If ya can't speak the language...sod it...go back to Roseanne Barr land and hide behind your Bush, before Ossama Bin wotever decides to recreate a scene from the Bible. You know....walks into the desert and sets a Bush A Burning! Whistling [whistling] I'm proud to be Canadian as well and when the Brits call me a Bloody Yank and I correct them telling them I'm Canadian EH, I've become their very best mate....Yowser, you have no eye deer. They want to make B&B Stew. Blair and Bush...so it's the leaders that create the mess and expect the Hoi Ploi to work as their clean up minions!

Re: A Truly Canadian Apology to the U.S./ A Truly Apology to Canada!

    Quoted from Tiggy

"We hav all kinds of sports in our schools, after school  classes  like music work shopes, or any kind of activites that help to exspand the minds and bodies of the children. I know for a fact that the schools up here don't have music class or art, or any kind of class that helps the child to find their talents in  the arts, such as music such as Mozart or any other great musican, and in   art knowing the difference pop art from  any other kind of art.  If you live in a ruel area of the valley  or near  but in to a places like  Halifax or  Moncton or even  St. Johns  your kids don't have a chance to  get to learn these things. you just go ahead and say all you have to about the US, we love our kids and fight for them  in all kinds of ways. hell even in little towns there you have good libiraes  you have hardley any real good ones unless you live in  big enough area such as New Minas or Turo or Halifax.    "

Where do you get the source for this information??  There is art and music programs set up for the kids right up through to High School...there is after school programs and activities...there are sports...

Tiggy sounds a wee bit uninformed.  Uninformed folks don't have worthy opinions, I don't think.

Time to hit the books, Tig.
