Unfortunately, since you didn;t watch the video, CL, then case in point: You're wrong; the video is not old...it goes from Morgentaler's early years and up.

Also, I already know your views on this topic, the french/english topics etc etc and I have no interest in debating you discussing with you any of it.

The Video speaks for itself to those who actually watch it before making comments.

you once claimed the photos were most likely fake etc etc... well, the video footage isn;t fake; can;t argue with actual footage, thankfully.

I'll let the actual footage speak for itself without my futher commentary :)

Re: Pro Choice Or Pro Life?

And how do you know the video is real? Because they told you so. Did you actually witnessed the events or just watched the video? Oh and for the I'm wrong the video isn't old. I never claimed it was, I said from the looks of the link, it seemed old. Do you even bother reading people post before you tell them they are wrong?Huh? [:^)]

I don't need to watch the video to believe in Pro Choice. Did you ever see pigs, cows, chickens etc.. get slaughtered? It's not a pretty sight but it's legal.

I get what your trying to prove without having to go to the video, but my point is that you don't have to live in the minds of those who makes that desicion. You make it out to seem like the women that does choose that option are just evil and anyone supporting Pro Choice is too. Guess what, there isn't as many choices as you wold like out there and not all women have access to those option.

I would defenatly give to addoption before even considering abortion, but as I said before, I never had to experience some of the things the women that does choose abortion has to live with each and every day.

You have every right to have your opinion on the subject but everyone also has the same right as you and it does not mean they are wrong. It just means that they have their own point of view on it.

Am I asking you if you are stupid or was I asking WWJD if he coudl actually prove it 's real. If you believe everything you see on TV, computers, newspapers, I'm not the one who is stupid. Sorry I didn't watch the video as I didn't feel like watching it. I only asked if the video is real. Can you prove it?

And whom ever you are salty- Learn how to respond without asking if someone is stupid.

You know, those embryos that just started the process of life, that became fetuses, that can grow into babies and kids when they're given the chance, WE WERE ALL THERE.  Every one of us.

If someone was to come up to you with a giant vaccuum and take your life away so terrifyingly and horribly, wouldn't that be wrong?  At what time of your life, since your life began, is it right to do that??

I just don't understand the opposite way of thinking to that.

Re: Pro Choice Or Pro Life?

Bulert, there's a big difference between a baby and a foetus.  It has been proven that a foetus does not actually have a conscience until something like 5 months post-conception.  Therefor, at the size the baby was in the video, pre-3 months post-conception, there is no awareness.  It therefor cannot feel itself being pulled forcefully.  It doesn't feel pain.  It does not feel cold.  It doesn't see silver coming.  It does not scream.  It just sits there and grows.  It is not a life.  It is a potential life.

If you cut your finger, you scream.  Your finger doesn't.  If you cut out a tumour, you feel the pain.  The tumour doesn't feel any pain.

Foetus's (foeti?) do not feel pain at the stage in the video.

Re: Pro Choice Or Pro Life?

When my son was born and they told me he'd be going directly to the ICU, I was terrified. To prove to me how good his chances of survival were, they took me on a tour of the nursery before they took me to my baby. I'll never forget the little one in the back corner: a little boy that only weighed a pound lying in an incubator with warm lights and several quilts over top of it. Only a pound - give or take a few ounces - and yet his little heart was beating on its own. Sorry, guys ... you can't convince me that a "fetus" is a "potential" life ... it's a life: a precious gift that needs to be protected. What to do with it can be a tough decision, but I would think that any decision would be better than wondering what the child could/would have been.

Re: Pro Choice Or Pro Life?

I totally agree with pretty much everything Lord Denning said in this thread.

It's gross, for sure. I watched the video. I did skip through some of the "images" though. I know they were trying to prove a point but I didn't feel the need to sit through all that to realize how gross it is. But it's still not a living creature. Like Denning said, it's a "potential" life. I'm not saying that this is the type of thing that should be taken lightly, but I still think it's wrong to legally deny someone the right to choose.

I do belive that life is a wonderful thing. But maybe we should focus more on making life more sustainable for all the living beings that are already here rather than focusing on bringing more life to this fucked up world of ours.

Also, I feel the need to state that I don't believe abortions to be much worse than cruelty to animals.

Although every holocaust ever perpetrated is an unprecedented event in its

own right, this should not detract from what all holocausts share in common...

the systematic and widespread destruction of millions looked upon as

    indiscriminate masses of subhuman expendables.

The cultural environment for a human holocaust is present whenever any

society can be misled into defining individuals as less than human and therefore

devoid of value and respect. —William Brennan

Re: Pro Choice Or Pro Life?

I guess I had the wrong spelling.  Thanks for the correction.  It's "foetus" in french, and I'm french, so that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.

As for the holocaust issue, I'm pretty sure abortion doesn't fit that definition.  Specifically, it's not a "systematic and widespread destruction of millions".

Denning Said: Specifically, it's not a "systematic and widespread destruction of millions".

Response: 46 million babies a year being slaughtered isn'y widespread destruction of millions? uh huh....
