Re: Non Gay - Non Religious Corner

St. Andrew's Presbyterian church on Moncton's Park Street is on the market for $650,000 because the minister says the congregation has outgrown the granite stone building.

Rev. Martin Kreplin said the pews at the church, built in 1928, are usually jam-packed for Sunday morning sermons.

"We minister to people all the way from Hillsborough to Salisbury to Shediac and Memramcook, and not having a single parking spot available for them is a bit of an issue," Kreplin said Tuesday.

It would also cost $500,000 to expand and put in wheelchair access, so the church has bought four acres on Hildegard Drive, near the fire station in Moncton's north end.

Kreplin said the For Sale sign went up last week, but talk about moving from downtown started in the 1980s.

According to a drawing of the future church, it will be more than twice the size of the Park Street church, shaped like an auditorium with a gymnasium and meeting rooms attached.

The problem with North America is stupidity. I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself?

I can vouche for the non-parking, I used to live right across teh street and thank god my place came with a private parking cause I would have had to pay to park my car and would have had a bit of a walk ahead of me.
Just waiting till it's all over.
