Re: Canada should open its borders to immigrants from a few select countries,

I think I read somewhere about Canada's new law. Every person who comes to Canada will get to be the Prime Minnister for one hour or get to make one new law. They have a choice of either as an incentive to get more people to move here.Wink [;)]

Re: Canada should open its borders to immigrants from a few select countries,

I really have no idea why you feel that the government feeds the immigrants and that all immigrants live on welfare in Canada. Infact its the other way round, the govt is earning money because of immigration! Those international who come to Canada and live on welfare are "Refugees" from African and other third world countries. Immigrants, are infact the workforce of Canada and are making a serious contribution to the Canadian economy. Let me give u an example. Lets compare 2 places in Canada, Toronto and Moncton. Which place has a better economy and more jobs? And why? 80% of the workforce in Toronto is Immigrant mainly from Asian countries. Other places like Calgary and Edmunton are fast catching up where as New Brunswick is not showing too many signs of growth despite of being located very favourably! I understand ur concerns of people trying to rip off the canadian govt but think of professionally qualified immigrants as an asset to the country and not a liability!
The way the world economy runs today, for any country/region that doesnt accept the idea of globalization and softening international boundries is not gonna do to well! Globalization is so powerful that even the mighty communist state of the Soviet Union had to break down and accept the idea! One way in which New Brunswick can reach a stage where it can compete with other provinces out West is more investment and one of the ways to encourage investment  is Immigration!
    Peace!

failure is the stepping stone to success!!
