If the "tourist" you want to draw is French Acadian, sure. I don't see why it would entice others to visit.

If it is intended to draw tourists from elsewhere, why is it even airing locally?

I don't see that French Acadian would be the only ones drawn by the ad. If you see a similar ad encouraging tourism in Nova Scotia and they had someone doing the highland fling or cabre tossing, would that be intended to attract Scots or would they be advertising diversity?

If you see something similar in Europe showing the French or Italian Flags, that's not designed to attract only French and Italian people. People will be attracted by different cuisine, art, architecture etc.

As for airing locally, maybe to attract people already here and to tell them there's more than they thought? Or maybe just that the deal is done with the TV company and they air it everywhere. Perhaps it's cheaper with NB broadcasts and just as I watch programs broadcast by CTV, for example, across the nation, people in other provinces must watch NB broadcasts too.

I understand your point. I guess I was just thinking that I can't see some English person, sitting in whereverville, watching his TV saying, I don't understand a word that guy is singing, but it sure looks like a place I'd like to visit.

I didn't notice what was being said, but I'll perk up next time it comes on and hope to remember it so I can write it down here.

My French is really rusty, but I'll give it a shot.....surely I'll be crucified for it.

"At the lake with two fountains (I really can't quite catch this line)

    During my walk

I found you so nice (pretty??)

That I took a bath (this must translate differently than it sounds, like I bathed in your beauty or something)

    It's been a long time that I've liked/loved you

    I'll never forget you"

I could be way off base on this.
