Let me answer this question mate. I dont know a single immigrant from Toronto or Vancouver earning 100,000 $ a year wanting to relocate to NB or invest here even if the govt wants them to and providing them with incentives. There is a lot of outsourcing happening from NB. Outsourcing of companies, jobs, talent and people. Very few who graduate from NBCC or UNB want to continue living here. All wanna move out west to make it big in their careers. So how is immigration actually responsible for NBs economic stagnation? What can the govt do to stop skilled people from migrating to Alberta and Ontario? U have to run the economy somehow. Create jobs. Have industry. Manufacture. New Brunswick cant rely on just Irving and Aliant. In order to have more business u need to have more people to run them. And under current circumstances immigration seems to be a good option. If skilled workers (I have highlighted that word coz it should not be confused with refugees) from other countries immigrate to NB then companies will automatically start investing here since now there's a work force. So what was going against NB can actually go in its favour. We can have more cultivation, more factories, more call centers which means more jobs, more money, more growth!
And if u think what I have written above makes no sense then fine:- ban immigration completely. Set up a national consensus and not just an NB one. But my question is u can stop immigration if u want to
( And i am sure the govt will stop it one day as soon as Canada starts meeting her economic targets). But how will u expel Citizens of Canada from other races ? I mean someone from China or India or say Russia who is say a 2nd generation Canadian and is a citizen of Canada? How can u expel him?
And u know what. I heard that some people in this very forum who talk against immigrants are themselves children of immigrant parents. Am I right Paladin?

that is interesting .When did u hear me call u an immigrant? I cant understand why ur taking things so personally? And I am happy u brought this up: So here's the thing. If there's a Canadian citizen who is born to Canadian parents who r black or Asian he would still be considered as an immigrant even if he's a Canadian citizen. Especially out here in New Brunswick . This is a very covert form of racism. Well I am not surprised to see that it still exists ! It means that we need to achieve a lot more as a society!
Well i hope u dont take things too personal. We're just having a general discussion here.

And let me add one quick thing here:
If u ask me from the bottom of my heart what I feel...I feel that we should live in a world with no boundaries. Any man from any part of the world or any culture should be free to live wherever he pleases. So if u wanna go and live in Russia say, start a business there and make money, U should be able to. There r many Canadians working , studying and living in the States , UK and Asia. I like it coz they are the true heros who are taking the Canadian point of view outside of Canada to the rest of the world. People who sit here and curse people from other races r just losers. Nothing else!

WTF??? Have you been smoking your lunch??? So we will just have any huge company just walk in and destroy everything we ever worked for. A small company like Walmart has been known to walk into a small town, completely wipe out all the business, and then pull out. All the small businesses were up *** Creek and all the paddles were in aisle 4 in Sporting Goods. A really large company could just walk in, bringing it's own employees, and completely destroy our country not just a small town.

well suprise to them the immigrant would walk on them first just because they would not fight for what is rightly theirs.........
all our immigrants should have a job on arrival and no outside help from our government since our government does not help our owns

LOL the best part is that this has already been allowed to happen. US and China have completely invaded Canadian markets for good ! And this is not just heavy industry , its day to day consumer products we cant live without! All Laptops, computers , phones, electronics goods have the tag "Made In China". Walmart, Macdonalds, all US. 80% of the food industry is run by people from other countries. The only way to stop this from happening is give way and scope for some serious manufacturing to happen. Protection of Small scale businesses of locals is something that i'll fight for but try and understand that while these businesses can take care of a family or more, they don't help run the state economy. Walmart is paying the Canadian govt millions of bucks to be here! So by ur logic is Walmart small? Infact the US and China has captured the world consumer market so intelligently that they have left the consumer no choice but to go n buy their products!
I would say the maritimes is amongst the leading manufacturers of patatoes in the world. Now we should look at opportunities to sell Patatoes to American burger joints for fries!
