    RCMP Press Release
    http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/nb/news-nouvelles/Jan2709_123924-eng.htm
    2009/1/27

The RCMP’s Internet Child Exploitation Unit (ICE) along with RCMP from District 2 Oromocto have arrested a 38-year old man from Tracyville for making child pornography and sexual assault.

The investigation began with the Toronto Police Service in November 2007 when a series of photographs were discovered circulating on the Internet in which evidence determined that they may have originated somewhere in Atlantic Canada. In October 2008, another series of photos were discovered. This time, the Maine State Police Computer Crimes Unit and Toronto Police were able to determine the photos were taken in southern New Brunswick. This information was passed on to the RCMP’s ICE Unit in New Brunswick who in turn were able to identify the suspect and the victim.

The police have so far identified one male victim from the local area, who is an adult now but would have been under 18-years old at the time the photos were taken. The investigation is ongoing.

The suspect is scheduled to appear in Burton Provincial Court on Wednesday, January 28, 2009 at 9:30 a.m. to face charges.

    http://www.cbc.ca/canada/new-brunswick/story/2009/03/10/nb-rcmp-shediac-124.html

A 32-year-old man was killed Tuesday morning in Shediac after a struggle with three masked men in his home, according to a family member.

Missing N.B. man found in Sydney Mines, N.S.

    Saturday April 11th, 2009

    By SHAWN BERRY
    http://dailygleaner.canadaeast.com/cityregion/article/632262

RCMP say a Miramichi-area man who went missing Monday after leaving New Maryland has been found and reunited with his family.

Donald Leach, 74, who suffers from dementia and Alzheimer's disease, was found Thursday night in Sydney Mines, N.S.

"He was confused and driving around," said RCMP Sgt. Claude Tremblay.

Police believe Leach was driving home on Route 8 when he came upon a section of road closed because of flooding.

They think when he encountered the detour, he tried to find another route and lost his way.
