Looking for a DJ or Music Service To provide music for Local Singles Groups dances approx. every 2 weeks. Music from the 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's mostly. Good old Rock n' Roll, plus some hard rockin' Country. Good working equipement required.

If you are talking about the dance on June 23rd,  the DJ " Tony"  was horrible, as was the one the dance before.

On the 23rd, he didn't hit the grove until after 11pm and by that time people were already leaving. He played maybe 5 slow dances, all night and not one after midnight. He ignored requests and advice from those that pay the fee.

I had a great time at the dance on the 23rd. I liked the music. I danced almost every song. I didn't ask for any request but i know one lady asked for a song and I don't remember hearing it so you are probably right there. I agree with you on the dance before I didn't like that one.

Glad you enjoyed it.Yes there were 8 people dancing most of the dances till after 11pm. Eight people out of 90, just doesn't cut it in my book.  We are a singles group, not a seniors group. The Beatles, Elvis and the 50's  are ok as a treat, but not a steady diet.Nor are we that crazy about country. Rockin' Country yes,,but in the words of the great George Jones, "We ain't ready for the Rockin' chair".

I want as many people as possible up there dancing their Butts off, not just a few. We play to the Masses.I know we can't please every one with every song, but we can do a lot better than we are doing now.

Well good morning, sorry to hear that things have gone so terribly wrong with the dances, I rememeber the days of Don and Barb with ABC and the number of people on the dance floor when they played, the floor could almost be filled from start to finish of a dance, but people that be have chosen to make changes, it sounds like it was a wrong change.

I had heard that Don had retired from DJ work but not to long ago I was at a wedding he was doing and again the floor was filled to capacity, he said he was doing some now and then,  why not try contacting ABC and see if you can get Don to come back again, bring the dances back to life, myself I haven't been to a dance in quiet awhile because Mike's dances were teen dances, not my style.

It's only a thought but MAYBE just MAYBE you might be able to revive the dances with the music the people want to dance to, after all remember he kept things going for over 2 years.
