CareerBeacon.com joins with Brunswick News newspapers to launch website for apartment listings

Apartment-seekers have discovered a new tool to find their new home anywhere in New Brunswick: NBRent.ca.

The newly launched website combines the apartment listings of more than a dozen of the province's daily and weekly newspapers and places them at the fingertips of those looking for a new place to stay.

Indeed, the Atlantic region's leading employment search website, CareerBeacon.com, has joined forces with the classified advertising departments of the Telegraph-Journal, Times & Transcript and The Daily Gleaner and the weekly newspapers owned by parent company Brunswick News Inc. to launch NBRent.ca.

The innovative partnership marries the power of the classified advertising departments with the web and the online search tools expertise of CareerBeacon and is designed to help renters reduce the time and effort spent finding, and closing the deal, on a new apartment.

CareerBeacon General Manager Jean Nadeau said the NBRent.ca website, which already boasts over 1,100 categorized apartment listings, is a natural extension of the company's core business.

"Many of our CareerBeacon users are experienced, white-collar, knowledge workers," Nadeau explained. "They are career-minded individuals who are willing to relocate and a big part of that decision is finding a new place to live."

CareerBeacon also runs a parallel website -- JobBeacon.com -- which targets 15-to-22-year-olds. These users are likely students who often need to find an apartment close to where they study or work, Nadeau added.

Darlene Kinnear, director of classified operations for Brunswick News Inc., highlighted the new website's value for users and advertisers.

"The combination of print and web becomes a powerful marketing and promotional tool for Brunswick News advertisers. In New Brunswick, that's a unique combination," she said.

"We are going to deliver a lot of value to advertisers, and due to the number of postings we also give lots of value to users."

Nadeau says NBRent.ca will focus on providing the vast breadth of content that will keep users coming back whenever they decide to relocate. By combining so many resources that offer continually renewed content, he says NBRent.ca will provide a one-stop shop for apartment-seekers in the province.

"When you're looking for a new place to live, you only want the best. You're not going to visit 60 sites every day," he said.

Free customized searches of the apartment database allow users to find exactly what they are interested in, and dozens of interior and exterior photos and floor plans remove the guesswork involved in traditional apartment hunts, says Nadeau.

Detailed local maps help users pinpoint their surroundings, and instant contact with property managers saves time and frustration. And free e-mail listing alerts make sure users don't miss out on their dream property.

Apartment owners can take advantage of numerous advertising features to spread the word about their properties to thousands of targeted daily visitors, says Kinnear.

The user-friendly web site allows properties to be listed immediately for instantaneous exposure, and makes it easy to upload photos and a full page description.

Furthermore, NBRent.ca cuts out the middle man by giving advertisers immediate access to inquiries about their properties.

Advertisers can keep track of the number of times their properties have been viewed, and once a property is rented, the profile is archived for easy listing next time around.

It's sole reason d'existance is to inform, entertain and to provoke meaningless and thoughless discussion.

I wish I could find my apartment in the Bahamas for a couple of months every winter then get it returned in the spring.
Remember yesterday, respect tomorrow, live for today.

I bought some batteries, but they weren't included.
