    local businesses

Hi All, I was wondering if I could pick your brains for a moment - I need a list of LOCAL businesses, preferably pretty substantial in size/income. examples - Doctor's offices local retailers (not large chains, they need to be based in Moncton/Riverview/Dieppe)

I'm (relatively) new to Moncton. I *could* go through the entire yellow pages, but I thought that perhaps people would be able to name a few right off the top of their heads. I have no idea which do well business, financially, or not.

we're a fairly well know group, so it isn't a matter of not being able to find any - it a matter of being efficient towards which ones you approach. I must say, this board has been a fantastic help. McDonalds!

    Re: local businesses

This board IS a fantastic help when given the proper opportunity. The point is that this group also tends to function on common sense - for the most part, at least. Stick out tongue [:P] When somebody comes in and says they're new in town and would like a list of businesses that make decent money, how do we know they're not looking to commit a series of armed robberies? Have you listened to the news lately? Every corner store in town has been hit at least once in the past year, I think.

    Hint:

When you go looking for help, you need to give detailed information. I haven't yet seen the name of your "well-known non-profit" group. It's so much easier to believe somebody when they put all their cards on the table right off the bat!

You are new to us and we know very little about you.

As such , many are hessitant to provide you with that kind of information.

There are so many Scams going around that people tend to be cautious at first.

We even have a Thread with the latest Scams going around.

    Re: Ouch

I have to say, I also would be more willing to give info if you would have provided us with info.

I have also noticed, in forums, on message boards, so on and so on, that more and more people will just post a "looking for" "Need info" etc... and I have a tendancy of thinking those types of people just don't want to bother looking for the info on their own and just assumes that others will provide all the info needed for them. (Example, go on kijiji.com and go look at all the ozzy tickets for sale. There was lots sale but then there were people instead of searching through them all would just post a add "Looking for Ozzy tickets, contact me at 75286598265@oiydg.com. Why would people assume it's up to the seller to contact the one that wants something, unless it's something rare and not very common to come by on trading/selling posts)

Be careful what you write cause you can say boo and they will jump down your throat.
