    Spring Birds

    Anyone seeing any?

I've read reports of flocks of Robins seen around Saint John and Grand Manan.

I saw a Bald Eagle last week.

A few Starlings are around too.

Yeah, I love Chickadees too.....afterall, they are our NB bird.

I wonder who can't make a call like a Chickadee.....we've all done it.

Did you know that Chickadees have a mating call too?  It's different from the Chick - a  dee - dee......it has just two notes, one higher than the other. It can be heard lots in the spring.

I like the sound a chickadee makes in the summer when he sees the ice cream cart. "Dicky Dee Dee Dee"

I wonder if they mate for life, like the geese.  Yup, Mallards are nice to watch.

150 geese were spotted feeding in a field near Nauwigewauk, so there's a good sign of spring....the geese are on the move.

    Re: Spring Birds

A woodcock was sighted in St. Martins today and a few Killdeer are being reported.

I heard one the other day.  I dunno why they're here cuz they eat bugs and forage on the ground, open areas especially.  No open ground around my neck of the woods.  What do they know that I don't, I wonder.
