Re: Taj Mahal on 882 Main Street

There's a new Indian restaurant located behind the Ultramar at the corner of Mountain Road and Killam/Connaught.  On the corner of that street that goes to the Voodoo Lounge strip mall bowling alley place.

I don't know the name.  Sorry.

As for the restaurant quality in Moncton, there are all kinds of great places.  Notme is wrong about that.  But they're pretty pricy, generally.  Which is to be expected.

Taj Mahal though is great, and the prices are pretty good.

Sounds like you mean Horseman Lane where The Lucky Penny used to be.

What kind of a welcome is that to someone new to the area?

Your true colors are coming out notme me, you just don't like foreigners , do you?

    How crude and crass..

What you call a Specialty, is a daily staple for some. Some who I might add have just as much right to be here and eat their own native fare in a restaurant as you.

What an ignorant response!!  If you can't respond to a post properly then don't respond..Stop making every damm thread on this site about you..very very annoying...

As for restaurants that you think are hard to find that you classify as "conventional" ..uhmm there is

    Homestead

    Steve's Diner

    Irving Big Stop

    just to name a few..

new2moncton....welcome to Moncton and I hope you find the restaurant that is to your liking..

Notme..There are alot of people that enjoy indian food that do not have any connection to the nationality but just like the food...I like chinese, Italian, Candian and French food...Haven't tried any others yet but welcome the experience..

Anyone who's never eaten Indian food, you've gotta go into the Taj Majal at lunch hour and have the lunch platter.  It's a great introduction to Indian/Pakistani food.  The best part is the bread (Naan).  I love Indian food as well as anything different and unconventional (which doesn't mean I don't enjoy "conventional" also).

I think it's the Asian Garden, 25 Killam.

I like Indian Food. Unfortunately my wife and stepkids don't like anything remotely spicy. I know there's plenty of Indian stuff that's NOT spicy, but try and convince them of that.

    Sad [:(]

It's probably my fault. I told them of a vindaloo I had once that was so damn hot, eating it was like slitting my lips with a razor.

Re: Taj Mahal on 882 Main Street

It is the asian garden on 25 killam thanks I was having a problem remembering the name. The prices aren't bad the food is wonderful. For something different if you are so inclined try the rose milkshake. The only better milkshake in the tri-community area in my opinion is sweetcyn's

I don't normally like vegetarian food but I could live with just eating indian vegetarian dishes if I had to.

Thanks for the name, I forgot it was Asian Garden.  That rose milkshake sounds really good.  That's at the Asian Garden?  I've actually not been there yet, but plan to soon.  I'll remember to have the milkshake.

The Taj Mahal has a Mango Lassi, which is like a mango yogurt drink.  Delicious.
