Smoking or non-smoking...rights
Smokers rights vs non-smokers rights. I quit approx. 2 1/2 years ago.
I had no problem taking it outside, and was always polite with my
smoking, never smoked in a vehicle, other's homes, etc. I find banning
smoking in cars with children a GREAT idea. I see a lot of people
smoking in cars with kids, babies! So if they are not intelligent
enough to make a good decision then it must be made for them. And I
agree with banning in outdoor public places where there will be crowds,
Example: parades, fairs, circuses, markets, etc.
Beyond that, it is a smokers right to smoke. As much as it is a diesel
fueled vehicle's owner has a right to drive past me making me choke, or
diesel fueled buses, or the hundreds of homes burning wood, making me
choke, or the thousands of commuters polluting the air by not car
pooling but one person per car. I have to deal with that. Or maybe we
could ban it too! What say you??

Re: Smoking or non-smoking...rights
I still smoke...
If in a relationship or even dating, I never smoke in her home or in mine when she was here.
Never smoked in my car with a non smoker or in theirs.
Still go outside. Do that in freaking blizzards..lol

Re: Smoking or non-smoking...rights
I'm just grateful I never really smoked so I didn't have a problem giving up.
I actually 'began' smoking when I was about 9. We'd buy a 'pack of five' from the shop and go to the woods to smoke them, switching to some sort of hollow reed things when we'd done.
At 10 I was hanging out with my older brother and his mates who all smoked and I smoked more. But I wasn't 'taking back' like smokers do. All I did was draw in and then puff out. The first time I realised I was 'supposed' to do more than simply suck the smoke in and blow it back out, I tried to do it 'properly' and consequently I coughed and coughed.
That was when I stopped 'smoking' and spent money on chocolate instead. ![Smile [:)]](/emoticons/emotion-1.gif)

I sure don't miss that! Huddling with the other smokers on break. LOL And now you have to be so far away from the doors!! Must really suck. But I miss the social part of being out there. :)

I heard tell the old gang from the parking lot misses you quite badly.

No need to be careful, just speak to me frankly. No need for innuendos. If someone has a problem with me I am open to talk. And I will hear another's side. I am human, I do screw up, and I do apologize.

Re: Smoking or non-smoking...rights
If you're smoking around a non-smoker, you're polluting that person's air. You ought to ask first before you do it.
If you quit, you know, you'll save a few bucks, too.
