I worked in a summer camp for a couple of years, in my teens. They had an old washing machine - the one with the wet cloths squeezer on top. They would put the bags of potatoes in the drum and turn it to the rinse spin cycle. After about 15 minutes the potatoes were all deskinned and somewhat rounder than whence they began.

I find the old hand held, tin, grater in the handle, peeler works best.

Seriously, this guy (who sounds kind of like the baker chef guy on the Muppet Show on valium) is my hero!  No more potato play.

if you MUST peel your potatoes .. what's wrong with a plain old paring knife? in all my nearly 30 years, it's all i've ever used for the job!

Im pretty good at cooking now. I took it up last year. I can make all kinds of neat stuff.

I don't mind peeling potatoes because I'm new at the gourmet thing. I bet the novelty will wear off soon though...lol.
