Legitimate Ways to stop Animal Cruelty in Canada! BillC-373

Hello everyone! I wanted to let you know that there is a legitimate and meaningful way to help Stop Animal Cruelty in Canada today! We have a Petition going to Gov't (initiated by Daisy-Duke, Didsbury dog) with a lot of Political Support! Now we need to let the Public, all Communities, everyone involved in Animal Services in Canada (and anyone who owns a pet) know, that we're counting on your support to help get this Bill passed after many years of Parliamentary Debates! Please see this very important information and support in any way you choose! Let's start protecting our animals without hurting industry sectors or environment, before Gov't wastes years more of taxpayers money debating animal law instead of protecting them! Letters to MP are the best option, but MP's are also counting on a large # of signatures on Tamara's Paper Petition especially! This one has to be printed, signed and returned by end of DEC! PLEASE Update that!! We feel it's in the best interest of this cause to reach more Canadians, so they may have opportunity to voice their opinion if they desire! Miles' online version will be printed and presented as well in support. Thank you all Canadian animal lovers! !

Please help spread the word about Tamara Chaney's "Stop Animal Cruelty Petition" started for "Daisy Duke", dog-dragging victim in Didsbury, AB. This same Petition is also available online now started by Miles Albrecht for his daughter's mutilated rabbit "Midnite", in Medicine Hat, AB. These are in support of Bill C-373 , to toughen fines, etc without hurting those in animal industry. I want everyone to be aware that there are many other Petitions To Stop Animal Abuse and Cruelty, but some are in support of Bill S-213 which many believe could have negative effects on animal industries. Please be sure you are educated before you sign! Clarification of differences are at http://cfhs.ca/law/federal_legislation/ ! Also, many petitions circulating will not unfortunately, be recognized as legal as do not contain Bill #'s, addresses or missing other important information, please make sure it is truly legitimate before signing! Please feel free to support this cause in any way you can!

The best scenario would be if everyone could take a moment to write to their MP found here http://canada.gc.ca/directories/direct_e.html .

And, if you'd like, print, sign and return Tamara's Paper Petition at www.noka.org , by end of DEC!, ..no time?

Then Miles online version available at http://www.petitiononline.com/Midnite1/petition.html will be printed and submitted along w/ Tamara's as support and pesented to Parliament by Myron Thompson and Mark Holland http://markholland.ca/ . Please make sure all required information is filled in on either so they may be verified or they won't count! Duplicate signatures will result in one being rejected. Please take a moment to help us show the Gov't how much our animals mean to us! This show of support is a crucial step forward, our laws are so outdated, there has been no significant change since 1892! It's time to show the Gov't changes are necessary immmediately to protect our animals and give them a voice! Thank you everyone for your time, I know we are being bombarded with petitions lately and felt it necessary to clear up some misconceptions and thanx for everything you currently do to help animals!

*In support of Bill C-373, w/ Tamara Chaney and Miles Albrecht
PLEASE NOTE! Petition Extended until end DEC!!

Part 2 - Petition News and Demonstration Views

PETITION UPDATES! Hello Fellow Animal Lovers! THANX to all who have posted the Petition or are helping with it, really appreciate it and as you know critically important to getting a Gov't Bill passed! I don't know if you were aware that.....Petition has been extended until end of Dec!!?? We want to make sure we give all of Canada a chance to voice their opinion as we reach them. Hope you agree it's in the best interest!

Also, the cost to run a country-wide petition apparently exceeds more than Tamara expected! If anyone would like to help, donations can B made to ANY Royal Bank Transit # 03529, Account # 5035043. Remainder of donations after Petition costs will be given to Canadian Federation of Humane Societies.

Started a sign-up "Group" for Petition Holders, Tamara, Petition Team, myself and Supporters at http://groups.msn.com/StopAnimalCrueltyBillC373 so we can get to know you all, where you are, give you accurate info and answer important questions! Now you can give opinions and views, discuss, debate be a closer part of the Team and clear up misconceptions like # 1....NO. BILL C-373 DOES NOT HURT HUNTERS, FARMERS, FISHING or any responsible agriculture, industry, or lawful practices out there. The people that enjoy "sport hunting", shooting an animal immediately after release for fun..or cause unnecessary pain and suffering to an animal..are outta luck. The people that enjoy licensed regulated hunting for wildlife population control and to prevent spread of disease as is important for balance..you're clearly protected. And, YES, there's many studies and well-documented proof that practice in sensless animal cruelty acts leads to much more heinous crimes inc murder, rape, serial killings etc. as these behaviours continue to go unpunished and animals continue to be unprotected.

ABOUT THAT DEMONSTRATION AT DIDSBURY COURT..So, more personal thoughts from me......I was wondering if anyone was planning on going to Court Nov.22 at 10:00 in Didsbury? I'm going, solely my own decision, not encouraging anyone to come or not. I'm NOT going there for Petition, don't even want to talk about it, that should be left separate, I'm going down there to "Share the love" with all my fellow animal lovers as we continue on this 1 of so many, emotional animal journey's together, and to try and make it a more peaceful place somehow. I think we're recovering from this one dog together on a normal and expected path of anger and reaction, then healing and support, then finding solutions to prevent from happening again. We're on the right road, I can feel it, I believe if we come together to do what's in the best interest for animals and humanity in a responsible way, and not cater to barbaric acts or anger fuelled violence, we will be far more effective in this cause, or we'll be no better than them. I'm going down there not for Petition, but to hug and thank each person that took the time, and cares, not just for 1 dog " Daisy", as everyone's sayin, (we're doing all this to Stop from happening to anymore animals! She was just the one unlucky enough to bring attention to these senseless acts). Because unfortunately as U all know, it happens every day, now we have to let everyone else know that. Let's stand up and support and heal together, "Share the love" of animals everywhere as we see "justice " served that day. Remember there's Karma.

Re: Legitimate Ways to stop Animal Cruelty in Canada! BillC-373

Thank you to each individual that signed Tamara Chaney's Stop Animal Cruelty Petition! The 100,000 signatures of support will have a huge impact when MP Myron Thompson presents them to the House of Commons at the end of Jan!
75,000+ signatures were hand-delivered to Myron at a special presentation at Kreb's Vet Services in Didsbury, on Sat. Jan. 13, with another 20,000 already at his office in Ottawa, with more coming. Thank-you to all that were able to attend, more info on presentation is posted in General, on Tamara's web-site at MSN group StopAnimalCrueltyBillC373 . Remember to check back for updates we'll be receiving from Myron, such as final numbers, presentation to the House, outcomes, etc.
Please continue to show support with letters to your MP, and the New Justice Minister, to help us follow-up on this critically important issue. The animals will never be able to thank-you enough!

All of us from Tamara's Petition Team sincerely appreciate your huge efforts! We're confident that your support will go along way in helping to Stop Intentional Animal Cruelty and increase fines, without harming those in our important animal industries! Thanks again to each person that signed, to all petition helpers, stores, media, web-sites, animal industries, many animal groups (like Animal Advocates, Compassion in Action, Voices 4 Animals, NOKA, to name a few), MP Myron Thompson, vets like Dr. Andy, Protective Services, Canada wide organizations like SPCA, and CFHS, esp Michael O'Sullivan who's been fighting for this for decades..We wouldn't have been nearly as successful without the help of so many great animal lovers! THANK YOU!
