    36 California schools under lockdown

Authorities put all 36 schools in 12 Northern California school districts under lockdown Thursday as police searched for a man who claimed he was planning an armed attack that would “make Virginia Tech look mild.”http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/18203613/

no   not ignore the problem but stop advertising it    those people are looking for glory and they do not care   if they die in it   as long as it remembered  and maybe headlines   then when another sees that headline  he/she wil try to defeat it

might as welput it in the gunness book

Too bad they can't intercept more of the shooters and ship them off to the war zone and let them have the time of their lives.

I do agree that these events are what you may called advertised....But on the other hand I want to be informed on what is happening...It is a very fine line...How would you respond if you were not notified about this incident...These incidents not only inform us but also push us to try to make the schools safer for our children...Chances are there are going to be sadistic people doing this sort of thing with or without the publicity that follows...Heinous crimes have been occuring in the world long before TV land started showing us what was happening...point being, sick violent people would exist regardless and just find another way to let themselves known..

On another note though what the news can stop showing if I had my way is the graphic nature of what they show....

    - Someone being shot

    - Someone lying dead on the ground

    - Blood

    - Someone being beaten

And so on..But..this what sells...this is what makes there ratings...this is what the viewer wants to see and this is what makes money...so it will continue..and it will get worse..It isn't necessarily the Tv News's fault..It is what we as viewers have shown we want to see...

They should at least leave out the shooter's name so he gets no fame.

That I will agree with...But I would still want to know the details on the person to know what kind of monster is capable of the violence...but yes..the name can be with held

Instead of the person's name refer to him as "The stupid jackass" or "Clueless arsehole" or something simular. It might deter a few glory seekers.

Why not just adopt kids who already have college degrees?
