Saw this post and had to come back. You can't get your citizenship by being common-law parters. You have to be married and I sugsest that you go reading up on how to obtain a visa to work here. It's not as easy as one would like it to be. My ex husband is american and my current B/F is american (but both lived in canada as kids so they got their duel citizenship) I tried to move to the states and had to fill out like 3 tons of paper work. The job offer from NB has to be one that is exceptional. They can only hire you under a work visa if it's a position that has specialties (and you have to have proof that you took the courses in that specific field) If just any regular person from NB can fill the position, they will not grant you a working visa. Ex. we need doctors, so they can come from anywheres in the world cause NB is lacking doctors. Nurses is the same thing.
Hope it help and please go read up on how to obtain a canadian visa.
Just waiting till it's all over.
