    Rihanna, Akon to play Moncton

Two of this year's hottest music acts are coming to Moncton.

Barbados-born superstar Rihanna will play the Moncton Coliseum September 27. And if that's not enough to get you camping out for tickets, double platinum artist Akon is coming with her.

Rihanna is known around the world for her toe-tapping, hip shaking smash hits like Pon de Replay, Unfaithful, S.O.S and this summer's Umbrella. Her debut album Music of the Sun reached the Top 10 in Canada and the U.S. She followed that with the album A Girl Like Me and her latest album Good Girl Gone Bad, released last month.

Co-headliner Akon also has his fair share of musical accomplishments. Don't Matter, the third single from Akon's double platinum CD Konvicted, is currently resting comfortably in the Hot 100 Singles, Hot 100 Airplay, and the Rhythm Crossover formats. The track follows the hit multi-platinum superstar artist/writer/producer's hits Smack That (with Eminem) and I Wanna Love You. The video for the top-requested song is also breaking new ground, being played frequently at BET, VH-1, and MTV. Most recently, Akon stole the show on the Worldwide Live Earth broadcast from New York.

n Set your alarm on Friday night because tickets go on sale at 9 a.m. this Saturday. Tickets are $54.50 plus service charges. They can be purchased at the Coliseum Box Office, by phone at 857-4100 or on the Internet at www.monctoncoliseum.com or www.geg.com.
