Mirapex, a popular drug in the treatment of Parkinson's disease manufactured and distributed by Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals, has been at the center of a controversy since hundreds have alleged that since taking the medication they are finding themselves feeling powerful urges to gamble, shop, have sex and eat compulsively. Many have stated that they find these urges uncontrollable, resulting often in broken marriages, bankruptcy, and host of psychological problems including depression and suicide. Many encounter legal problems in addition to everything else as a result of these compulsions.

Bullshit...............I don't blame my urges on a newly founded "Politically Correct" drug or disease. I am responsible for my own mistakes not like some "Wimpy wimpy" other people. I think I have to puke here.

There ARE medications known to increase one's appetite ... several anti-depressants and pain-killers come to mind. Why isn't it logical that medications could cause other urges? I agree that one can ask for help or stop the medication before the point of getting into legal troubles, but I do believe that some meds have side-effects that can be as horrible as what they're meant to cure.
