    Moncton in the movies

I read this week that a new movie is being filmed with Moncton locations. It's called Growing Op.

A year or so back, I recall reading of another movie based in NB that also had Moncton locations. Does anyone recall what it was called?

That might be "Snake Eater" with the stellar stylings of Lorenzo Lameass.

Actually I think Snake Eater was filmed in the Shediac Bridge area. There was a movie called Turning Paige shot in Moncton. I saw it on TMN a couple of years ago. It showed the big church on Lutz St, the Petitcodiac River, and scenes from Centennial Park. http://www.turningpaige.com/main.html At first I thought I was seeing things on tv. The movie was shot in 2001.

They were supposed to shoot scenes for a movie called The Reaper on Highfield St a few years back but I guess I missed any signs of it.

Once I saw they had the subway on Main St blocked to do a snowstorm scene for some movie. It was really cool (all puns intended) to see it happen in July.

Snake Eater is too old for the one I read about. I found Geraldine's Fortune on IMDB, but that was 2004.

The one I read about was being filmed ( I think) around the same time I read about it. It may have been about a lone parent living in a 'small town'. She may have been a waitress in a diner.

BTW...anyone ever see 'Taking Lives'?  I've only seen the VIA Rail station from a couple of hundred yards, but whatever they used in the movie looked much bigger and was packed with commuters. Needless to say Moncton isn't listed as a location for that movie.Wink [;)]

    Re: Moncton in the movies

More in the T&T about this today. There is mention of a movie called Black Dog. That may be the one I'm thinking of but I can't find anything on IMDB (except a different movie by the same name) or by googling.

Searching by location on IMDB reveals many movies with NB locations - though not necessarily taking place in NB if you see what I mean.

Something called These Girls has an interesting plot. Anyone seen it?
