Hi,

Just wondering if anyone has worked for them?They are located in Moncton.My advice is to be VERY careful when applying for jobs from them.They are quite cruel to their clients.Don`t be surprised to be hung up on when calling them to enquire about employment.This is just a regular thing to them.As you will notice they have a hard time filling their job openings,and what ones they do get,never stay long.All i am saying is to be very careful.

A few friends of mine used them,so thats how i know  .

Two temp agencies taht treat their emplyees civily are Universal Staffing and Manpower.

Yes i have also heard good things about Universal.Have not known anyone that worked for manpower.

I was Manpower's 13th employee way back when they were located across from Tuttle Brother's on Lutz Street. I worked at almost 300 temporary places for them. I did everything from shovelling cow poop to building shelving units to setting up concerts to making tires. A lot of the jobs were hard work but I met a lot of great people. I would love to still do some temporary work for them but my days of physical labour are over.

I have a "problem" with employment agencies.

I feel that if someone is serious about giving someone a job they will do it without a "middleman".
I also *think* that if, as an employer, you have trouble keeping employees, there is something wrong with you, not them.
If you are going to do work, I feel you should get all the proceeds from that work, not share them with a 3rd party (unless, of course, you feel the need for a pimp).

A lot of unionized wharehouses just can't pick up a person for a few days as easy as you think. Their regular employees will feal threatened to see new people walking in off the street. Some may want to go on strike.* By going through a temporary service the new people are on the temporary companie's insurance and other plans and are easy to get rid of if they don't work well. If the new guy was suddenly in a union he could be lazy as hell and very hard to get rid of. The temporary service is a good solution for companies needing a short term employee. Just my 2 cents worth.

 

 

 

*A full time full time 45 year old wharhouse employee will poop his pants to see two part time 20 year olds hired on a full time basis. It's also way easier to get a part timer to work a couple of extra hours at regular pay than to get a full timer to work a couple of hours at time and a half.

My beef with companies hiring employees from temp services only is that the worker has to work for months..normally fulltime and doing the same job as everyone else for very lil money and no security in their job...There is one company in particular that has been it for years ...Cough ahmen Irving..cough ahem..I mean seriously people...you are a large enough company in the maritimes that you should do your own hiring and stop making people be your cheap ass labor...Most people working for temporary services are very hard working people and are rarely recognized as such..

Universal is awesome I have to agree. They got me my current job (which is a really good one) and I only had to be through the placement agency for 90 days max then I was transfered to my current employer. Many times the reason why employers will ask temp agents to hirer for them is to by pass the interview proccess. I don't think it's a bad thing to be avail. but I do think that too many companies go through them and there is no way of finding out what company you are applying to through them.

A few of my friends work through this agency.At westmorland Albert(dump).They don`t like it there but its a job.The agency treats it staff terrible i hear.Alot of the time workers come in drunk,stagering around the place.Nothing is done.But the good people that work there,like my friends,are constantly ragged out.As the superviser(night)Is just a kid doing his first time supervising.I was also told he has never done this kind of work before.I recently found out that there is a guy working there that  sexually harassed the women.The agency was informed,but nothing was done.He is still working there.Most jobs say they have no tollerence for this kind of performance,why is it allowed there?Makes you wonder.Its no wonder why they are always looking to hire.All i can say,is i am glad i donot work there.

Sounds like a real fun place to work. How much do they charge people to work there?

Hi,

Surprised to see this here.But i hear its all true.My cousin works there.The night shift.They told me it was better run by the last boss.As he was more responsible.The current boss is just a kid.He was given the job when the last boss quit,as the agency couldn`t find anyone else to fill the position.Which is a shame as now the place (night),is run just wild.I guess breaking bottles and fighting is just a common sight there.I hear alot of other things go on there which is never reported.My cousin says if the day staff knew what happens there at night......Not everything happens on the cameras....But my cousin is just one of many that will not be staying there much longer.They are just tired of seeing all this and nothing being done about it.They can`t complain about it as the agency will just cover it up.Notice why people never heard about it before....

Yes you would be wise to stay away from this agency.
